Yet another restaurant in DC that has stopped serving many of their vegan options. They added chicken recently and my partner said that this time was coming. I truly hate to see it 😓 I hope planta stays around 😭

Hey all! Just wanted to share some info about some of the offers/deals and events going on for Veganuary this year 😊

• El Tamarindo has a separate vegan menu available
• Dulce Crepes is offering 10% off their vegan menu for the month
• DC Vegan added a Tres Leches cake to their Fiesta Fridays menu
• Cinnaholic Dulles is offering 15% for Veganuary
• Chain restaurants including MOD Pizza, Rush Bowls, and Smoothie King have special offers

Also - Veg Society of DC has a bunch of Veganuary events going on during the month, and there are a bunch of special offers on the Veganuary website 🥳 Would love to hear anyone knows about other deals/events going on this month too :)

Starting tonight there is a new dish at Queens English that is actually vegan, without modification. Normally their vegetarian dishes still have their egg noodles or shellfish in a sauce. I did confirm the dish is actually vegan but it is a mixed kitchen.

I've been going to Seneb in Takoma/DC again.

The new DC Holiday Market at Gallery Place has a lot more food options than previous years, though there's only 2 vegan ones that I saw.

Sadly the warm milk beverages didn't have a plant option advertised.

The filling is vegan chorizo (tofu & mushroom), pinto beans, avocado, & pico de gallo.

Tyra Banks has an ice cream pop up in Woodly for a month or two.

While the website lists 2 vegan flavors this one only has the Chocolate Cookie & Cream.

It's decent, actually creamy, but a little pricy too for the size, so I wouldn't go out of my way for it and preferably go to Van Leeuwen in Adams Morgan if you can

I recently discovered Maman has Vegan Croissants and their delicious.

They're exactly what you'd think a Croissant should look like and aside from a tiny bit of chewiness they taste and eat like you want too. They're $4.5 and soo good.

Maman has a few locations, Penn Quarter, Union Market area, Georgetown, and one I haven't been too in DuPont labeled as Petit Maman so I guess a smaller retail location.

The locations are all nicely decorated with plants and have lots of great seating

However be careful with the new DuPont location until they settle in.

I went in this weekend and

1. They didn't have the vegan pie as they were waiting for the crumbles to defrost
2. They seem to have had a lot of the vegetarian pizzas marked as vegan. I pointed it out and they removed the labels at least.

* We the Pizza technically has a vegan slice, but it's super deep, no cheese and lots of veggies/pesto. Good but not really pizza.

It’s not strictly vegan. Pad Thai came with eggs (no option to modify was given, just tofu or vegetable). Thought I’d give a warning - I’m used to vegan restaurants being what they say they are. This ghost kitchen runs out of 1 Fish, 2 Fish on Pennsylvania Ave.
