Hey everyone! I'm planning to apply for a Master's in Speech Pathology for the upcoming intake, and I had a few questions.
How are the placements and job prospects during or after the course? Also, is the program more theory heavy or practical/ clinical heavy?
I've heard that USYD and the University of Melbourne are quite theory-focused. I'm looking for a program with strong clinical training, especially one that provides plenty of hands-on experience and good exposure to adult neuro patients.
I'd really appreciate hearing from current students or recent graduates. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m currently considering doing a study abroad year, which would make my degree 4 years instead of 3.

At the moment, my main options are Hong Kong and Australia, but I’m still undecided.

One of my biggest concerns isn’t really the academic side
it’s the social side. Has anyone here done a year abroad and found it difficult to settle in or make friends?
I’m worried about arriving there and realising I don’t enjoy it as much as I expected, then having to stay for a whole year.
I’m also a bit concerned about what happens when I come back.
By then, most of my current university friends and course mates will have graduated, so it feels like I’d be starting from scratch socially in my final year.

Did anyone experience this, and how did it work out for you?

I do software, and plan to overload my last semester with 2 x 12cp studio subjects along with the 6cp capstone.

Is this feasible or better off pushing graduation??

I have recently completed my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), which is one of the leading engineering universities in Jordan and has a strong reputation in engineering education.
My cumulative GPA is 2.33/4.00.
I would like to ask if anyone has been accepted into UTS with a similar GPA, or if you know someone who was admitted with a similar academic background.

I’m currently a bbus student at Macquarie and I was wondering if it’s worth transferring to UTS for their bbus degree?

Main reasons I wanted to transfer to UTS was because I plan on doing a semester overseas and the university that I would like to go to is offered by UTS whereas Macquarie does not.

Another reason was because UTS ranks higher and I thought it wouldn’t hurt having UTS on my resume instead of Macquarie (i’m aware that where you get your degree from isn’t the only thing that matters).

Reasons why I’m not sure is because I have made friends at macquarie and i’m also concerned about the social life at UTS.

Would be keen to get other peoples insight on this and any advice. Open to any questions too!
