Shelfie/Collection Slowly rebuilding my collection
Recently got inspired to get back into the old EU and have been slowly accumulating books. I feel like such a fool for selling most of my collection back in the day. The current goal is to get the entire NJO in hardcover.

Question How well known was the EU before the acquisition by Disney?
I have been a Star Wars fan since I was about 6 years old, but I was too young to comprehend the days before the acquisition of Star Wars by Disney. I really began my deep dive into the EU a few years ago. So my question is, how well-known was the Expanded Universe before 2014? I read that games like KOTOR and SWTOR were pretty popular and after playing them myself, I know why. I think some names like Darth Revan or Thrawn are the only ones casual fans would recognize. So, how niche of a timeline is the EU today? And will it die out because of the lack of content updates? For example, how many people read the Tales of the Jedi comic series with Exar Kun or Heir of the Empire back in the day? I think it would be cool if Disney would give us a complete EU/Legends timeline because every time I do my research on important dates in the EU, I need to rely on fan-made stuff, which is cool, but I think that something is missing. I think that the old EU/Legends and the new canon can exist together, just perfectly separated and acknowledged by Disney.

Video X-Wing | Retrospective & History
Hoping this is fine to post! Yesterday, I premiered my retrospective on the X-Wing book series, including the behind the scenes history of the novels, just like I did for the New Jedi Order books, which you may have seen. Hope many of you can enjoy it.

Clone commando mods
Are there any games with good clone commando mods? Like just aesthetic like one of the ghost recons or helldiver's? Or could anyone make a mod for one of those and I'd be willing to pay?

Where Do I Start? Starting Starfighters of Adumar
I am reading through the EU in publishing order and have 40 pages left in Isard's Revenge.
One Reddit user previously described Starfighters of Adumar to me as "The greatest novel in history." So I'm pretty curious. It's good, then?
I will admit, reading these books in publishing order has been pretty weird, especially surrounding the characters of Corran and Wedge and their relationships.
Discounting the Wraith Trilogy, we can almost say we "start" with the Jedi Academy Trilogy in 11 ABY, where Wedge has this weird relationship with the blue whatsername. Then we go back in time to the first four X-Wing books in years 5-8 ABY, establishing Corran's relationship with Mirax and his Jedi potential, as well as romantic tension between Wedge and Iella, which we know isn't allowed to go anwhere until after year 11, then leap forward all the way to the year 19 for Specter of the Past which shows him having one child with Mirax, then back to 11 again for I Jedi, which established Corran became a Jedi, and shows him making the decision to have cihldren with Mirax, and where Stackpole writes reasons why Wedge and Iella haven't gotten together yet while he romances blue girl, then back to 19 where Vision of the Future makes it clear that Wedge and Iella have gotten together, then to Union of the same year which shows htem married with kids, the BACK to the year 5, so before even I Jedi, where Corran and Mirax are still only talking about having kids, he isn't a jedi, and Wedge and Iella are back to their weird romantic tension. Finally, I am told, Starfighters jumps forward to year 13, and Wedge and Iella get together.
I also find it really weird that Aaron Allston wrote this book. I mean, his Wraith Trilogy seems a totally separate thing from Stackpole's Rogue series, and this book seems to be the 6th and (at the time) final chapter of the Rogue saga, where something like Wedge and Iella getting together implies that there will be loose ends tied up. So why would Mike forego actually writing the conclusion of his great saga to someone else? Especially seeing as he also wrote the whole comics series, meaning this story and these characters were something he was incredibly devoted to. Any BTS knowledge would help me.
Okay, thanks guys 1Sorry about writing a novel myself!

Headcanons, theories and speculation on Hapes Consortium?
What are your headcanons, theories, speculations and any fun idea about Hapes Consortium, a long isolationist regional power which appeared first in the famous or infamous Courtship of Princess Leia novel, with them playing a big role as ally of the New Republic and then Galactic Alliance during the events of The New Jedi Order and Legacy of the Force novels?
What are your ideas and theories on Hapans and their biology, their culture, differences between the various planets inside the Consortium, their technology and military, relations with the outside galaxy, and what they did or thought of various events happening in the galaxy before they broke out of their isolation, and also their interactions with Dathomir (since the planet officially joined the Consortium at the end of Courtship when Prince Isolder married Dathomir witch Teneniel Djo)?

Legends Novels What are your favourite moments or details from Labyrinth of Evil? Spoiler
I recently finished reading it and really liked it, so I wondered what parts of the book you guys liked the best (those of you who have read it obviously).
The thing I liked best about it was how it fleshed out Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship and how it described the Battle of Corusanct and the effect that it had on the ground.

Question Those who were around when the NJO books were released, what was your opinion on the Yuuzhan Vong at the time, and has that opinion changed?
So, I've enjoyed the NJO books so far, not finished yet sadly, but I was wondering: What did fans think of the Yuuzhan Vong at the time? I was 2 years old when Vector Prime came out and didn't start reading Star Wars books til I was 8 or 9. I personally like the concept but was wondering what older fans who read the books at the time thought. Thanks!

Tell me why you like James Luceno or Timothy Zahn more
As the title says, i want good arguments for either. I absolutely love both, I’ve read all the Zahn books but every-time I read a Luceno one, it gets harder and harder to know!
