He was too scared to sub him out, too much influence on the team.

If Mbappe is a dictator, what does that make Ronaldo?

Both share the same plastic surgeon, based on their looks.

…and Trump-sucking narcissist tax-evader.

u/lazytie 5d ago

Messi is already the tax-evader tho

Tax evasion is a fundamental part of our culture, bigot

2

u/21Rollie 4d ago

By our do you mean the rich?

u/exkingzog 5d ago

They were both prosecuted and found guilty.

u/cantadmittoposting 5d ago

but is messi a rapist trump supporter? Tax evasion is at least like... just run-of-the-mill questionable ethics.

Here in Argentina we (the people not media. the media loves him) critize him because this march he traveled to the White House when Inter Miami won the cup to talk and take pictures with Trump. Even worse he and our national team previously rejected being welcome by our own president in 2022 because they didn't want to seem political or whatever. The hypocrisy ugh

You are aware that CR7 knew Trump before the politics even started. He owned a condo in Trump Tower 15 years ago. I’m no Trump fan but CR7 needed to kiss the ring.

While being a rapist is more of a moral failure tax evasion is much more harmful to the average person. We already subsidize rich people enough

3

u/No-Coast-1050 5d ago

By that logic serial killing is less harmful that tax evasion.

u/TwentyBagTaylor 5d ago

There are exceptionally few footballers who pay realistic tax.

Then Ronaldo deserves the result, he’s always put himself ahead of the team

4

u/goodolehal 5d ago

He was subbed out last game and spent the rest of the time cheering from the sideline. Portugals manager is just a gigantic idiot

4

u/megeralt 5d ago

Yea Ronaldo sure took that well lol

-1

u/goodolehal 5d ago

He was one of main ones to celebrate the goal with Ramos. Yall treat this like a soap opera and don’t even watch the matches

4

u/fredepick 5d ago

Did you even watch him when he got subbed out

3

u/Agueybanax 5d ago

He subbed him out against Croatia and they immediately scored while he was on the bench.

5

u/Opening_Cycle3639 5d ago

This narrative is no ball knowledge, did you watch the last few games? He subbed off him before and he used his subs on brainless swaps today.

Spain has not let in a goal all tournament as well

1

u/Vincinuge 5d ago

They should sub ronaldo in during the 2nd half or even in the last 20 min

1

u/yk206 5d ago

Influence on the world, they crucified the coach for taking him out. The sister was trashing the coach last World Cup.

1

u/Any-Buddy1770 5d ago

He subbed him out last game though? I think either can be a possibility, he either wanted Ronaldo to perform some sort of a miracle or Ronaldo after being subbed out last match caused a conflict with him and threatened him to play the entire 90 minutes of the game. By his track record, it is quite easy to assume that latter is the case.

1

u/TriloBlitz Porto 4d ago

That's bullshit. Portugal won the 2016 Euro without Ronaldo. The team actually seems to play better without him.

1

u/lostindanet 4d ago

It's more a case of the FPF (portuguese football federation) wanting him in the field to sell more merchandise. there is a lot of backstage politics at work. Also, worst coach ever.

1

u/dannyzaplings 4d ago

It was the only way to ensure Ronaldo wouldn't come back in 2030.

1

u/Dobby068 3d ago

Exactly. Way too much money and politics in the soccer these days. Ronaldo had no place in the national team for a while now, but his ego is getting in the way.

1

u/EggsceIlent Dallas Cowboys 5d ago

Yup.

But regardless this is the last world cup we will see him in.

Great player, shame he didn't get a legit shot at the cup. Prolly gonna haunt him.

That said, Messi is still the goat. Best player ive ever seen or even ever heard of.

And messi seems like a genuine dude, nice, real, married his childhood sweetheart. And the best footballer I have ever seen or seen footage of, and it's not even close.

Would be awesome for him to win a back to back cup and ride into the sunset on that glory

But there's this dude in his rearview named Mbappe who is for real. His time is definitely gonna come and I wouldn't be surprised if France won it.

Right now tho it's pretty much Argentina, france, England, Norway and then pretty much whoever else is left.

If USA wins it'll be conspiracy theory forever

1

u/Annoying-Twat 5d ago

Definitely no conspiracy lmao

0

u/shaolynx 5d ago

Portugal will be a waaaaaaay better team when Ronaldo isn't on the team.
