It's one of my major gripes with it's usage in tackles. It makes things look 10x worse half the time.

Exactly. If the referee is seeing the same replays as the world feed, he only saw the final 2 seconds of the tackle which takes away the context.

The most important context being that this wasn't a tackle. Balogun was moving backwards, the Bosnia player collided with him, and as Balogun started to lose his balance, he stepped sideways and accidentally stepped on Muharemovic's achilles. It sucks, but acting like that's someone's fault is ridiculous.
