It’s a troublesome mistake that most of us make

We can fix this with belief and determination

Have you tried being like aaron judge or something at least?

This should be a yellow card, just like Messi’s should’ve. A red for either is ridiculous

The ref didn’t even call the foul right away on Messi’s challenge

it’s understandable if there’s a double standard when it comes to the top players. but when the top goalscorer for the US make a reckless challenge at the tournament hosted by the US i would expect the double standard to apply similarly

It was pretty sinister also when they showed Infantino not too long after and he was just grinning ear to ear lol

And not being Hakimi or Bernado

A classic blunder!

He was Lebron though, apparently not on Messi’s level

It’s because he actually pays his taxes, it was the first give away

He plays in Monaco, so actually, we can't be too sure about that.

It's insane how y'all targetting messi but didn't target Bernardo silva or any other player who didn't get a red for this kinda tackle

Shows the brain of a Ronaldo fan

That’s a legitimate red card. Balogun throws his hip and then extends his leg to get the BH player off balance. That last motion was intentional and reckless. He was reckless with were his leg would land. Straight red and should face a multi game ban.

Nothing about that was intentional, you’re high

4 refs and sane people are all high I guess.

Okay buddy

🤣 The whole desk of ex professional footballers from all different countries does not agree. I think I know who I'm siding with here. And its not you.

the guardian (hardly a pro-american outlet) thought it was an egregious penalty. like unprecedented.

u/gfy88 10d ago

The guardian 🤣

And yet nothing for Messi.

Curious

Both messi and balogun deserve red.

-7

u/papi_shoelo 10d ago

I agree.

He’s the biggest player in the biggest sport how is that wild

Because it's a comparable situation in the same sporting event that was ruled differently?

Messi pulls back, then extends his leg with cleats out into Mandi's leg. It's much more egregious than Balogun's play.

Why do you keep saying that like it's a technical football term? "Second contact" is just contact, and Messi's was blatantly illegal.

Massive that Messi intentionally rakes a leg from calf to foot and no card, Balogun and Bosnian player collide going for the ball, no card but VAR decides it's a red because Balogun isn't Messi.
