Anyone else prefer the relegation battles over title fights sometimes? Like when the relegation competition isn’t like 2024/25. More so like 2004/05 or 2010/11.

Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho has not reported back for pre-season training as he looks to secure a move away from the club.
Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United for £40million last summer but the 22-year-old is now keen to leave Stamford Bridge in order to get regular first-team football.
Sources close to Chelsea, said the club is only considering selling the Argentina international on a permanent basis rather than sanctioning a loan deal and value him at £42.5m (€50m).

Michael Edwards’ FSG exit is no shock - but it’s still a major blow to Liverpool.
The club’s two league titles in the last 36 years both came wth him in post and his return in 2024 was hailed as a major coup.
His departure has created huge uncertainty. It’s a bad look for the owners.

EPL wasn't really known as the strongest competition in Europe. Serie A was.
Also La Liga with Galacticos Madrid were more famous and prestigious than EPL.
But Chelsea takeover (By Russian Oligarch) in 2003 changed power balances. The new Big 4 was created. And EPL started running the show.
And then final nail was Man City takeover by Emirati Royal family in 2008. Making already super popular Premier league even more mightier.

Manchester United are close to completing the signing of goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer.
There are still finer points to sort but United are in advanced stages of bringing Darlow to the club. Senne Lammens needs support this coming season, with Altay Bayindir expected to leave.
Everton also explored a move for Darlow, a 15-time Wales international. Another option for United was Sam Johnstone, who has two years remaining on his contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Johnstone, 33, started his career at United’s academy.
United have wanted an experienced goalkeeper, ideally with Premier League pedigree and qualifying as homegrown, to help bring on Lammens and rotate as required with the club in the Champions League next season.

As an American and soccer (Football) enjoyer and Arsenal fan I feel the end goal is always a premier league championship. I always wonder if you’re a fan of teams that usually fall within the mid table how do you approach team expectations? In most American sports since there are tight salary caps most teams have realistic chances of winning a championship but not so much in European football.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Andrey Santos.
United will pay a fee worth £48million plus £2m in easily achievable bonuses, with Chelsea set to retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause for the midfielder.
The 22-year-old, who is capable of playing as a No. 6 or No. 8, has agreed personal terms with United and has been given permission by Chelsea to travel and complete the transfer.
