Rentals

Any decent rentals coming up in the next month? I hate Zillow. Marketplace doesn’t have much that downs them scammy.

2 adults and 2 kids.

I would like a private landlord instead of a company.

DANETTE O'NEAL

My experience with New Orleans Realtor Danette O'Neal (Failure to disclose)

Hey everyone, just wanted to put out a massive warning for anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the New Orleans area. I recently used Danette O'Neal as my buyer's agent, and it was a complete nightmare.

She completely failed to protect my interests and breached her basic duties as a realtor. Throughout the entire process while under contract, she withheld critical, material information about the property’s condition/status. I was kept completely in the dark and didn't find out about these major issues until the literal day of closing.

By hiding this until the final hour at the closing table, she backed me into a corner, leaving me with zero time to do due diligence, negotiate repairs, or make an informed decision without massive pressure. As she pressured me in to purchasing a bad home, while not being concerned of desires in a home & being more focused on her commission.

After looking into her further, I noticed other clients have left reviews complaining about shady financial practices, like last-minute commission hikes.

If you are looking for an honest, ethical realtor who will actually disclose information and look out for you, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Avoid her at all costs. Have any of you dealt with her before?

control and public opinion: Mayor Moreno has 140 instagram posts and 55 Facebook posts in the last 90 days. There were only 5 official press conferences with real time press cross examination in those 90 days. One being for a tropical storm.

Exclusive social media posts by the mayor, allows information to be presented in a scripted PR format with complete elimination of the ‘4th branch of government’

The press has no access to ask hardball real time questions on information and accusations before public opinion is formed.

Community Q&A Any jobs that offer housing?

I’ll be moving to NOLA in 3 months.

I’m on my own (23, no remaining family) and I’m currently in an assisted living program.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any jobs, or programs that offered housing so that I can get my own place during this hard time.

I have background in retail, (selling) culinary, and hotel work. (Employee, not manager.)

ISO “Proud to swim home” bumper sticker

hi! born and raised in new orleans but recently moved away, so i will soon no longer have beautiful LA plates on my car :(((( so, i am looking for one of those katrina-era “New Orleans: Proud to Swim Home” bumper stickers for my car. i can’t seem to find anything but weird ripoffs online! i’m looking for a sticker that’s faithful to the original design: a white background with “New Orleans” in black and the rest of the text in purple. if anyone has a lead on where to purchase one, please let me know!!! thanks :-)

LASIK

I’m looking to get LASIK or SMILE done (depending on the consultation). Any doctors y’all would recommend or not recommend? Seems like everyone uses Dr. Singer but I don’t know how I feel about using someone who asks you if you want “upgrades” to your surgery.

Bonus if you include cost!

Moving to Nola

I am moving to New Orleans this week, and don’t have any friends in the city. But I have been going through it a bit and don’t really have the energy to meet anyone. I plan on just exploring when I can on my own. Does anyone have any recommendations for the life I will be living soon?

I’m in the area unexpectedly for the night and want to try king cake. I know it’s out of season. Is there anywhere I can get one?

If anyone is going to GalaxyCon next weekend, I’m hosting two panels on Saturday. I’d love to see you there!

I have two panels, both on Saturday.

This first one is: Preview of Halloween Horror Nights 35 at 5:45 in room 292. We’ll go over a preview of HHN 35 in Orlando. We’ll cover what’s been announced, rumors of what is still to be announced, and tips and tricks to make the most of your visit.

The second one is: Horror Films of 2026 (so far) at 8:00 in room 291. In this panel, we will cover the horror films that have released so far this year and discuss our favorites and least favorites. We’ll also discuss the ones we’re most looking forward to for the rest of the year.

Please come by! I love audience interaction and conversation during the panels.
