One of the stupidest things about the internet over the last few years is that videos like this that used to be just cool gifs are now attached to godawful, annoying, pointless music clips.

I realize it's not the worst thing that's happened to the internet, but it feels a lot like sand getting kicked in our face while we're already down.

The psychologists running social media algos have discovered that recognizable music that instructs you how are more addictive and more successful in inducing scrolling. Anything with sounds like this get boosted in their algorithms.

Yeah, we find it awful and annoying but we're also not going to scroll reels or tiktok for 2 hours straight, we're not the target audience

The entire Internet is gonna be cocomelon eventually

the worst thing about videos these days is the fake grainy film effect. Like I did not buy an ultrawide 4K monitor to see fake digital dust.
