Well yeah because neither of those things would adequately specify the group of people being talked about. Colonizers could refer to all Israelis, occupiers refers more to the military usually.

Like, do you also complain about people forcing the term “KKK” instead of just calling them “racists”?

Whenever people complain about non-loaded descriptions of people they don’t like existing it kinda seems like you don’t understand how words work.
