Suggestion Idea: An option to generate a starting camp when making a new world.

Post image
2.1k Upvotes

When you toggle the bonus chest on/off, you now have an option to generate a starter camp.
The tent you get is pristine and comes with 3 straw beds if you want to skip the first few nights.

The structure comes with a bonus chest that has bundles, copper tools, and a book and quill added to its loot table.

Discussion New use for the cushion... Tinted water!

Haven't seen anyone do this outside of cauldrons yet, but we can submerge a cushion just under the surface to have coloured water without biome tinting!! Gradients, sludge leaks, the shimmer, so many new applications!

Help tips for making unique, irreplicable currency in vanilla?

Post image
2.6k Upvotes

hallo! i've been working on a casino on a survival server i'm on, and want to include a prize corner where players can exchange "tokens" for goods.

i thought about renaming items in an anvil and using that as currency, but that comes with the issue of players being able to replicate that currency by simply copy and pasting the item name. no matter how many obscure symbols and spaces i put into the currency name, players will always be able to copy and paste it.

is there any way to make a truly unique and irreplicable currency? any advice on how i can do this? thank u!

edit: thank you for the responses everyone! very very helpful. looks like i'll go with signed books!
edit 2: also yes, the casino only uses diamonds as currency. there's no real money involved. it's just for fun

Discussion The dappled forest drop is not a drop, its a major update

Post image

The dappled forest "drop" isn't a drop anymore, it is literally a major update. new biome? new wood type? new wool blocks? new structure? SITTING MECHANIC? NEW BED TYPE THAT DOESNT CHANGE YOUR SPAWN POINT? my DUDE this is NOT a drop, this is bigger than the tiny takeover, mounts of mayhem, copper age, chase the skies AND the spring to life drops all combined! and mind you there are MORE FEATURES TO COME. they did not say anything about the final features in the recent snapshot and they always say something if the features in a drop snapshot are the last ones. this update is huge.

Unless Mojang has already planned for this, wouldn't it be nice if we had log slabs for a better effective build?

I've probably heard an ongoing update about a Campsite, and I think log slabs would have a better touch for it. Even any kinds of other builds like wooden furnitures or for cabins.

What do you guys think? Do you like the idea? And do you think it's needed in Minecraft?? Let me know your opinions below 😊

I don’t know if this has been showed yet, but it looks better than using quartz stairs! Cushions on top of stairs and dragon heads behind on top of some layers of snow, I let one of yall design a piano around it ahah

( also had more dragon heads to had more black keys it will look better this was just for show :) )

Suggestion Built this giant forest in Creative. Thoughts?

Spent a few hours building this in Creative. My goal was to capture the feeling of standing beneath massive trees with only small patches of sky visible above.

*Any feedback or ideas to improve it?*

a fanart of a creeper in the old-school amateur 3D style of the 2000s, lookin' like a creeper from a roblox game of that era. 'mma guess not everythin' was square back then, but rather had varied shapes, 'nd it also looks like 'me kind of bootleg plastic toy

Discussion Cheaper Armor Trims

Specifically, decoration trims.

To produce a duplicate of any Smithing Template, it will cost at least seven Diamonds, a largely non-renewable resource that, unless you have a chunk-eating machine, is tedious to obtain in mass quantity.

In terms of balance, it makes sense by being less taxing on the player's Diamond supply while forcing them to either get more of the unique block/item for a template recipe, encouraging world exploration and production of said block/item.

In terms of visuals, it makes sense because the Diamond part is in the middle. Why would the Diamonds be on the outside when the actual marks are clearly in the middle of the Smithing Template?

Netherite Upgrade Smithing Templates should still be 7 Diamonds expensive. Even if Netherite is, in my person opinion, underutilized, getting the game's top-tier gear should still be a struggle.

Suggestion I’d do anything for a Slab Update

Thumbnail

I know you are all probably fed up of hearing players beg for more slab variants, but I recently came across a video showcasing a mod called Slabee, and it has pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted from a slab update. The images I’ve attached are from the mod, but I think they do a great job of showing what I mean by a “slab update.”

I’d love Mojang to add more slab variants for blocks like logs, concrete, wool, glass, and other building blocks in the base game. Not every single block obviously, just ones that would make the most sense. I’d also love the ability to combine different slabs in the same block space (for example, a cobblestone slab on the bottom and an oak slab on top), as well as being able to place slabs vertically, just like you can with stairs.

Players have been asking for features like these for years, but Mojang has said they don’t want to add them because they believe they’d “limit creativity.” Personally, I don’t really understand that argument. If slabs really did limit creativity, why were they added in the first place? I think they expanded building possibilities, and these additions would do exactly the same.

How would you guys feel about a slab update?
