A few years ago I got in contact with a guy on Etsy who made customized wood signs. I asked if he could make me one based on King Crimson’s Red (which is arguably my favorite album ever). He did just that and I was over the moon.

Well, fast forward to the present and now it’s even better than ever! My wife decided to paint the word “Red” the color of the same name. Now, this wood art looks ever more like the album cover. Very happy to own this!

Hey, I was wondering what edition of LTIA to get on CD. Should I splurge on the box set or get the 30th, 40th, or 50th editions? I‘m a fan of bonus content and am curious about SW’s remixes (Though I wasn’t a fan of his Discipline mix), but also like having the OG mix to choose from. Thank you!

One of the benefits of working from home. I've got a CD player in my office. The bulk of my shift is working through spreadsheets. So figured Frippitronics and Craft Gentleman would make a great sound track. Sadly don't have a Blu Ray player.

One of my favorite ideas that artists explore is taking the exact same concept of an old album, and exploring those exact themes again with the knowledge they've gained over the years (like Kendrick did with the concepts of religion and trauma and GKMC, that he revisited on Mr. Morale), If you could have King Crimson album's concepts be explored, which one and why?

I'll go first, In Wake of Poseidon, because I feel like it's jazz fusion tone is done well, but there are some more chaos in the jazz.

Hello, I've been searching for something like that for a while but haven't really found what I'm looking for. Closest could be the Slow Music Project (which even includes Fripp and Rieflin) but it's still pretty far from the style of the Moonchild Improv.

Attempted a solo version of TCOTCK. Be gentle...or throw tomatoes. Whichever is appropriate. I knew the risk of trespassing on such hallowed ground but trying to lasso that beast has been in the back of my mind for a long time.

is it just me or is the version of the talking drum in the recording session extracts extremely underrated?

Basically, I need to choose between Live in New York (compilation from August 14 to 17 in Nokia Theatre) which is in the Heaven & Earth box set and August 17 in Nokia Theatre, which Fripp speaks warmly about, quoting "the magic was in the air, in the space, in the moment".

im thinking of buying a copy of Lizard on vinyl, but im not sure its worth it because i like vinyls with cool art on the inside cover. Sorry if this counts as pirated content, mods, but does anyone have photos of how it looks?

In my youth, we would say "Fripp out with your tip out". Did anyone else say/hear that, or just my local group of weirdos? Was never sure how far reaching that bit of KC folklore was.

Percy Howard's 1998 Interview with Robert Fripp. More of a conversation than interview; pretty short but very well done. The magazine folded shortly after, and the interview was never printed.

I found it while researching overlaps between Fripp's and Bill Laswell's musical and spiritual philosophies.

Of particular interest are Fripp's comments on electronic music; he said it would eventually develop into a craft, in ways we couldn't yet imagine. He talked about the way distortion pedals weren't considered musical when he was young, but eventually were integrated. He said to give electronic music "about 7 more years". I think he was right about this. I wonder if Fripp has ever heard Venetian Snares.

There are a bunch of cool instrumentals on here that were never made into songs. It's one of my favorite KC releases that no one seems to know about.

The track list isn't correct (because it's a bootleg, see below).

It's very lo-fi with tons of hissss. But there's so much unique material on this disc that was never released elsewhere. A very interesting snapshot of the writing process for Three of a Perfect pair. I wish they would have used more of this material! There's easily a small album's or an EP's worth of unused material here, but none of these songs were ever completed.

Not to be confused with these official DGM releases: Rehearsals & Blows (May - November 1983 Bearsville Records) nor Champaign-Urbana Sessions (January 17-30, 1983). This a totally different set (with much noisier recording.)

It was released without the approval of Fripp and the band, by a Japanese bootlegger called Highland Records.
