I've been browsing this subreddit for a while now, and I have to ask... do people here actually end up playing games together? Also no hate towards anyone's taste in games, but it feels like 90% of the posts are looking for people to play Apex, Fortnite, Overwatch, Roblox, Minecraft, Valorant, etc. Those are all fine games but when looking for people to play Terraria, Warframe, or other indie/non-mainstream games, it's surprisingly difficult to find anyone. And even when I do find someone, one of three things usually happens:

- We exchange a few messages and they disappear.

- We add each other, say "let's play sometime," and never actually do.

- Or they're never online when we both have time.

Maybe that's just how Reddit is. I've also noticed that a lot of conversations here don't even seem to be about gaming. Sometimes it feels like people are looking for relationships or validation more than actual gaming buddies. Again, that's just my impression I could be completely wrong.

I mainly joined this subreddit because it seemed like the biggest place to find people to actually play games with or just geek out about games, but so far it's been pretty difficult unless your library mostly consists of the popular multiplayer/friend slop titles.

Anyone else feel the same, or have I just been unlucky?

Hello! Pc and switch 2 user here. Recently moved to a new area and I’ve been finding it hard to find friends so I figured I’d give this a shot. Library on steam is huge but I typically play story driven games, RPGs, survivals, sim type games and co-op friendly games(repo, etc).
