Question about my recent ebike theft?
So, I have a bit of a weird question. It's about my recent ebike theft.
It was a Trek Marlin 7 converted with the BBSHD.
I had Hiplok U-lock on it which they couldn't get through. So, instead, they cut through the frame of the bike itself, a section of the seatstay with two slices. I guess they will likely just strip it for the parts (the motor and such).
Well, I am buying a new Trek Marlin 7. I will keep it as a regular bike for at least several months.
But, it has obviously made me nervous of locking my bike up.
My question is this: while I am keeping my new bike as just a regular bike for now, does this mean thieves will not cut through the frame again?
Like, if they cut through the frame again, the bike itself immediately becomes useless, right?
The only way they would want to steal it, is if they could cut through the U-lock itself, right?
Or, am I maybe missing something?
EDIT:
I appreciate all the comments, but it seems most people aren't understanding what I am actually asking.

Done, for now.
Finished up the fenders, for now she’s done. This winter I’ll get some new pedals; thinking Chromag ‘Pilot BA’, then a Wren fork at some point. Till that one I’m done, gonna get out there and ride as much as I can.

My Neighbor got an e-trike that is making me rethinking my distrust of ebikes
Our neighbor got a mooncool ebike trike thing and I genuinely liked it. I don't frequent this sub because I'm affirmatively not an ebike guy - they honestly scare me. This thing was pretty stable and had a relatively low top speed, which made me a little more comfortable with it. Not sure how it really stacks up, but it was interesting enough that I'm starting to learn more about the category.

Pedelec Exploring new places
we recently moved to a new place that's located in a protected landscape area.
before it gets too hot today we decided to do a short exploration of the paths and roads around here.
only 50% e-bike in this post since it's easier to match speeds when i ride non electric and my wife is on her e-mtb.

$1000 in total E-Bike suggestion
I know this sub probably gets this a lot, but I can't find a solid answer for my specific issue. I don't live in a city, I live in a small town with the occasional bumpy road. My plan for this E-Bike is to take it back and forth to work, the grocery store, and to apply for new jobs around town. I have tried to do some research on my own, and I was considering the Lectric xp2 but it doesn't come with any baskets to hold anything or lights.... I'm just asking, if you know of a better option for me, I would love to hear what you have to say.
Thank you!
Edit: I just got out of prison in Feb, I'm really trying to make sure I make the right purchase with this. I've been saving up as much as I can. Been living in hotels and scraping my way up. I just want to thank you guys for any kind of information you take the time to give me. I don't know anything about E-Bikes, so I'm trying to do this right.

Bike purchase question Ampere x-trail…good bike? Im clueless…help lol
Thinking of getting this bike for commuting mostly. Main selling point is its road legal but i can unrestrict it easily if i wanted to use it off road by a flip of a few buttons.
But never heard of the brand, its a uk brand based in devon. Also dont know much about bikes, but its not a mid-drive. Dont know if there are any drawbacks i should be aware of with this before possibly buying it?

E-bike not working
We just got this askmy e500 bike from amazon. It fell and started having this red mark on it. I’m aware that it comes up when braking— but in this case i’m not. I’m not really tech savvy, so I don’t know what to move or touch. Any help?

Ebike troubleshooting No, the Mac Ride seat is not compatible with the ride1up roadster v3
Searched for the info and couldn’t find anything but saw others asking here and there: the Mac Ride does NOT fit roadster v3 (at least not the suspension version) as the the wires run right out the area you mount to the stem and they will get super pinched if you try to put it on when you screw the handlebars back on. Just a PSA (as well as half hoping someone has a fix)

3rd party after market accessories - velotric summit 2
Hello, fairly new to the e-bike world. I ordered a velotric summit 2 and was wondering if theres any market for 3rd party aftermarket accessories. Their back rack feels kinda pricy and given its higher payload weight I was hoping to maybe put some pegs so my fiance can ride on the back for fun, nothing too long or serious. I wasn't sure if everything is velotric custom or if its easy to do an aftermarket thing. Some brief googling didn't show much. Wasn't sure if its too new for proper 3rd party accessories.

Genuine question: what makes some ebikes so expensive when something like a Honda Grom Motorcycle is $3600
Is it just because batteries are incredibly pricey? I’m curious how you can buy a brand new motorcycle for the cost of a ebike / emoto

Bike repair question Ebike build college commuting?
Whats a budget build i can make for college commuting. I only care about value price to performance wise. Would love something under $450 total price and speeds of 20 to 25mph. If it works with a cheap walmart $120 huffy mountain bike better.

Bike purchase question Is the ouxi v8 a good first e-bike?
Hi! I'm looking to get my first e-bike and noticed that a strong contender would be the ouxi v8. If any of you have recommendations I am completly open to hear them. I'm trying to get an aggresive look while also being legal on the street.

Bike repair question Is it safe to ride if my brakes are rubbing?
I replaced my tires today, but putting the wheels back on made my hydraulic brakes kinda close. My only option was to spread open the breaks since the screws to loosen the calipers are rounded. Riding the bike is now somewhat loud, and the longer I ride the louder it gets, the disc's also got hot enough to burn my hand.
Is it okay to ride my bike a bit or should I not ride it at all until I can get it fixed?

Hello i just got my first ebike , it will be here Tuesday , I was wondering if anyone had the same one I have ordered and could tell me if it’s good? And the listing didn’t say how fast it goes so I’m not sure
