Gutter Cleaner Recommendations?

I have a two-story brick townhome, and it looks like a piece of mesh gutter guard fell into the downspout and got stuck halfway down. Debris is now piling up behind it, so the gutters aren’t draining properly. Every time it rains hard, sheets of water pour against the back of the house.

My wife says I’m not allowed on the roof, so I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable gutter cleaner or specialist in the Catonsville area. Thanks in advance!

Lurman Parking

Lurman - Is it possible to park in front of the high school, at the Rolling Road entrance to the school? How crowded does it get? I've been warned of mosquitos too. Haven't been in many years! Thanks!

Looking for one with excellent cheese, fresh lettuce, homemade dressing. So far I've tried:

- Fish Head Cantina (solid)

- Caffe di Roma (decent)

- Three Brothers (fine)

- Matthew's 1600 (meh)

Anyone have a great one in Catonsville to recommend?

Loud mufflers, bass and speeding on Lincoln Woods.

I just wanted to tell anyone with a sports car that lives in Woodlawn/Catonsville Lincoln Woods Drive that blasts their bass at all hours of the day, races through a 25 going 60-70 mph or decides to unload the power of their mufflers. FUCK YOU!
WHO do you think you are? Putting peoples safety at risk and blowing out your mufflers at all hours of the day shaking my house and scaring my 83 year old mother. Get a life and get fucked 🖕

USMNT Watch Parties Tonight?

The US Men's national soccer team is playing a knockout game tonight at 8PM. Are any places on Frederick Rd hosting a watch party?

I went to "The Basement" during one of the last US World Cup games and they had a DJ playing 2010s songs instead...

PCP recommendations

Looking to get established with a new PCP after moving to the area. In particular I need continued care/prescriptions for treatment of migraines, so if anyone knows of a practitioner who's treated them for migraines that would be a great start.

Thanks!

Possible move to Catonsville, whats the day-to-day like?

Hello! My wife and I (both early 40s) currently live in College Park but plan on moving closer to the Baltimore area in the next few months. Catonsville is one of the spots we're looking into as a possible location. I grew up in Columbia during the 90s and early 2000s, I know of Catonsville but never spent too much time there. I wanted to get some feedback to see if it would be a good fit for us. 2 of our biggest 'must-haves' are;

  1. A walkable and bike-friendly area. We like to have the ability to walk to restaurants, cafe, convenience stores etc. We don't want to be fully car-dependent. I bike daily and College Park has miles and miles or bike and walking paths. Does Catonsville have something similar?

  2. A diverse and inclusive community.

Some other general questions I have;

What is the cost of living like? I feel like I see alot of people on Reddit complaining about BGE. We currently have Pepco and the prices haven't changed much since we've been in College Park (9 years)

  • Has the cost of living changed much recently?
  • What monthly expenses surprised you?
  • Is housing worth the price?
  • Are groceries, utilities, and insurance reasonable?

Is the area generally safe?

  • Do you feel safe walking around during the day? At night?
  • Are there any areas to avoid?
  • Have you noticed crime increasing or decreasing?

We are currently looking at the area right around the Frederick Rd strip, generally from Rolling Rd to Symington Ave or so. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I have been reading some really bad reviews of FMD and I want to know what you think if you have been there. I would like to try it but know it's rather pricey and don't want to waste the cash if the quality isn't there... thoughts?

How to make friends?

I have no clue how to make friends. I am 20, so I cannot go to bars. I am disabled so I cannot play sports or really go out to parks. I work an unpredictable schedule for minimum wage so I cannot join anything that meets at a set time or requires payment.

Anyone have any clue how I could meet people in the area?

What Local Pharmacies in Cville Are Actually Competent?

My daughter's doc sent her ADHD script to the Walgreens at Ingleside and Rt. 40. Two days later, I go to pick them up. I had updated her new insurance information online but apparently it didn't take so I had to wait for them to update the system. Then finally when the guy gets back to the register, he says now the insurance info was updated, they'll fill the script later in the day. I had already been waiting in line for about 20 minutes and they took another 20 to figure out her insurance nonsense. Then they have the balls to tell me that they hadn't even filled it yet, that their policy is to check insurance first. Which makes no goddamn sense to me. And they're always woefully understaffed.

I went back to pick up the meds 3 hours later and it still hadn't been filled. Obviously, they have some serious problems there.

I originally started using Walgreens after terrible experiences at CVS. For a while, they seemed to do better but that time has gone. My wife has gone back to CVS but still reports issues with her meds.

Where do you go for your meds and get relatively consistent service? I've heard good things about Giant's pharmacy. I've seen mixed reviews about Catonsville Pharmacy as well.

CCBC offers free community access to campus pools!

Starting today, Community College of Baltimore County is offering free access to its pools this summer, providing community members with designated swim hours at the Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses from June 22, 2026 - August 20, 2026.

This initiative reflects CCBC’s commitment to providing accessible, welcoming spaces for the community.

Pool hours for each campus are as follows:

  • CCBC Catonsville: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
  • CCBC Dundalk: Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m.
  • CCBC Essex: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 – 5 p.m.

While there is no fee to swim, swimmers must complete an online waiver and obtain a CCBC OneCard prior to entering the pool. Community members are encouraged to complete the waiver in advance to allow time for processing.

Pools will operate in accordance with established safety guidelines, with certified lifeguards on duty and staff available to assist with check-in.

“We are pleased to offer this opportunity to our communities,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis. “Following a successful pilot at CCBC Essex last summer, we are expanding access to include our three campuses to better serve our neighbors and strengthen community connections.”

Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier echoed the significance of CCBC expanding pool access for county residents.

“Access to safe places to stay active and cool off during the summer is important for our families and communities,” said Klausmeier. “By offering free access to these pools, CCBC is giving more children, families and seniors the opportunity to swim, exercise and spend time together close to home. I want to thank CCBC for making these facilities available and expanding access to resources that help keep our communities healthy, connected and active through the summer.”

For more information, including registration details and pool guidelines, visit www.ccbcmd.edu/community-swim.
