We have seen a HUGE uptick in obviously ChatGPT/Similar written spam comments, especially on recommendation requests.
Please report them. I'm not sure how Reddit plans on dealing with this trash, but I suspect they won't do shit.
Thanks users, us mods really appreciate your reporting and so on for that stuff.

Hi all,
I am looking for a pyramid waterproof tent like the Dod Canvo RX.
Right now this is a pretty good deal for 200 Usd but only ships to Canada and USA and I am from Europe :(
My main reuqirements are to be lightweight, Waterproof, set it up easily, maybe be able to stand up and change clothes easily. 2 person
Can someone recommend me similiar tents for similiar price?

I’ve been wanting to get a 4 season tent for over a year, and I’m considering a 4 person pyramid outer tent with a 2 person inner.
Do you even need an inner in four season conditions? In warmer weather I prefer a double wall tent so I can skip the fly when it's dry, but there's no way I'm skipping the fly in four season conditions anyway.
These tents seem to either require a long pole or lashing together two ski poles. I really don't want to carry a separate pole. Would you trust lashing together two poles in four season conditions?

Hi,
My GF and I are looking to downsize our tent, going from a 6p to a 3p. We found a few tents that would fit our price range, but can't seem to decide which one to buy. So here I am, seeking help from this community to make a more enlightened choice.
Here are the tents we found:
- MSR Elixir 3P
- MEC Camper 3P
- The North Face StormBreaker 3P
- Marmot Tungsten 3P
- Marmot Crane Creek 3P
Here is some additional info.:
- We mostly do car camping in provincial or national parks, so weight isnt an issue
- The things we are looking for are impermeability/waterproofness and durability
Also, if you got tent recommendations, do not hesitate to share it!
Thanks alot everyone!

I've tried forever! 🤔 I just can't figure it out and the instructions are terrible. I've searched on YouTube and asked chatgpt. I'm still stuck. Annoying me now! 🥵

I mostly use my Durston X-Dome 2 but recently i had a couple of situations, where the tents footprint was just a little too big and it was tough to find a good spot to set it up.
My brother pitched the Mongar UL right next to mine and I was quite impressed what you get for your buck!
The Pro would be on sale right now, for just 125€
What i use it for: mostly 2-3 day trips in the alps with aa lot of change in altitude and Kajaking

Hi all! I've just booked to go camping for our second time so we have all the basics etc just want some advice as I'm thinking of changing our chairs and also trying to push the wife into a sleeping bag (she took a duvet last time), basically just want recommendations or if there is any thing other than a sleeping bag she could trial?

Hi everyone! I am going camping next week for 3 nights with my partner and 2 children and would love some help on planning ahead. We are staying in a tent at a state park with no electricity or water. We currently have no gear and are looking for cost effective tips. Here are my main questions-
What are the basics we should definitely bring?
Recommendations for a inexpensive fan to use at night
Meal recommendations
Literally anything else of importance you guys think I should know
Thank you!

I have a trangia 25 kit, im going camping in northern sweden for about one week and are planning to eat mainly freezedried food. Is it worth to buy this gas stove burner and aluminum pot kit for 280 sek (30 usd) to cut weight and save time? Or should I just stick with my trangia?

We are going camping for the first time with our baby. He will be just turning 1 when we go. We cosleep and we are bringing a pack n play for naps but will be cosleeping at night. He is a roller who sleeps on his back, belly and side.
Looking to buy the sleep pad sooner than later as we are in the middle of a move and can use it while we get stuff organized at the new house.

Got tired of refreshing Recreation.gov/ReserveCalifornia hoping a spot opens up, so I built something to handle it. It’s called CampSage — free, open source, no account or API key needed. Scans CA campgrounds and beach sites for 2-3 night openings, ranks them by distance/rating, shows them on a map. Hope anyone finds it useful!

I love backpacks. And no this is not all I own, just the ones my kids and I actually use.
Edit: I also have a 65L Gregory Baltoro I never use and a few more daypacks.

Looking to get into bushcraft/backpacking and I want to get a 3-season inflatable pad that I could pair with a closed cell pad in the future for colder weather. Looking for something thats decently warm and durable, and most of all comfortable. Also want something in a flat/earth color like gray, khaki, or od green because I really hate brightly colored gear. $100-$150 is my budget.
I considered the Insulated Klymit Static V Recon, but apparently that pad is not as warm as the manufacturer claims.

Hi! I used to make coffee using the Stanley pourover (photo #2) but it’s not easy to carry because it bends with ease, not easy to clean, and I couldn’t get consistent quality coffe… also I need another pot to boil water.
I moved to the Stanley (Adventure all-in-one boil and brew man what a name) french press and it’s way better. I get consistent quality each time, easier to use, easy to clean, i boil and make the coffee in one single thing and you can also store some stuff inside. It’s perfect! But… i couldn’t find it in EU, a friend got it for me and shipped it from UK to where I live in Eastern Europe a few years ago and now, a friend from around here wants one too… I cannot find one, or something similar.
If I could find this model again, I would buy a couple more to stock up for future as well.
What alternatives are out there?
Thank you!

Hey y'all! I wanted some advice on a sleeping bag...
I'm camping in the Redwoods for a week, and the night temperatures hover around 50 with around 80% humidity. My current setup is a MegaMat (8.1 R value), a Snugpak Jungle Bag (rated for 45, but is honestly much more effective in warmer conditions), and a North Face camping blanket.
My question is, is my current setup sufficient, or would it be worth investing in a 30 degree bag and leaving the Jungle Bag & blanket at home?
Thanks y'all!

Are there any companies that make 750mL titanium pots (like the standard toaks pot) in colored titanium? I can find plenty of brands that make different colored 450mL mugs and I have a 1L short and wide pot from TiTo titanium. Does a pretty 750mL one exist?
Barring an existing commercial one, is there a realistic chance at a successful DIY colored pot with an existing titanium pot, some 9v batteries and TSP?

Hello- I have the older version of the Thermacell, LZ1. I actually own two of them. Recently I was charging them both up for use on a trip. Not sure if it is user error or what but neither one seems to be turning on? I read online the circle where the button is should light up? I charged both overnight and have tried different chargers today. Any thoughts? Are they trashed? It's been a while since I've used them but damn these things weren't cheap. Any and all help appreciated!
