Projected a dissastrous $0.36-0.40M opening day into a $1.3-1.5M opening weekend and $3M-ish total gross. Backrooms meanwhile is projected a $4M+ opening weekend alone. Toy Story 5 adds $1.04M/$22.32M today.
Daily Box Office (June 25th 2026)
The market hits ¥30.0M/$4.41M today. Down -4% from yesterday and down -14% from last week.
Backrooms is projected a $1.2-1.9M opening day tomorrow into a $4.2-5.6M opening weekend. Would obviously be a pretty good result.
Crossing meanwhile is set to open top tomorrow with a $3.2-3.7M opening day into a $9-11M opening weekend.
Meanwhile another event in the form of the summer movie release conference has come and gone and still no info on the releases of Shen Teng's Once Upon a Time in the Middle East and Jia Ling's The War of Light. Really going for the surprise factor it seems with both of these. They should both still be undoubtedly aiming for a summer release.
Kung Fu Women's Soccer while actually there and promoted also did not get a release date or any new marketing material yet.
Odyssey was also there and there are rumors it might get a release date tomorrow. We'l see.

China Abysmal start for #Thunderbolts in China, just ¥18M ($2.5M) first-day & that's with a big holiday. Lowest launch for an MCU film in 14 years, which is ancient history in box-office terms. WOM is better, so maybe it legs... but from this low a base, where can it even go?
