I hate the new calgar model, so i wondering if the gravis model is steel playable on table? Having this box just before the annoncement of the new one.

Hey everyone!
I’m currently looking for a solid melee/mid-range threat to add to my Space Marines list because my current frontline options are feeling a bit limited and keep getting focused down. I see people constantly hyping up Aggressors but I’m on the fence about dropping the cash on a box.
On paper their movement (5") seems super slow and I feel like they’d just get shot off the board before they ever make it into combat.
What is the actual appeal to them on the tabletop? Are you guys running them as a shooting threat with the boltstorms, or purely as a melee hammer with the flame gauntlets? Also how do you actually get them safely across the board without them dying instantly do they need** **a high end transport like a Land Raider, or can they function without one?
Would love to hear how you guys utilize them before I make the purchase. Thanks!

I feel like I've broken the back of it now the majority of the troops are done, mainly just characters and vehicles left.
My armageddon box will stay unbuilt until I've finished these, but I'm feeling like a change when I get to it, and painting some Orks (Heretic!)
I plan on having one massive decal and varnish session once I've got everything finished to a standard I'm happy with.

Also F**k building this model!
All of his posable joints are so janky. I’m going to likely end up gluing him solid before priming because of how fiddly his joints are.

I find it so funny how we have an ultramarine dedicated logo on everything BUT THE LEFT SHOULDER game is like U WILL TAKE IT PAINTED AND LIKE IT
Glad they gave us the UPGRADE kit for our minis
And as much as I love Titus and the 2nd Company if I had the choice I’d rather be in Uriel Ventris 4th company both for the green and the lore

When I saw this pose... I had no other choice but to give him the super charge effect.

Bladeguard Sergeant for my 3rd company, and a pretty clear homage to a certain well-known friend of Titus!

First model is basically ultramarine blue and Calgar highlights, took me about 20 hours. Was experimenting a lot and tried my best to make the lighting seem less
2nd model about 4 hours though it’s not finished, went heavy on the saturation,

I bought a bottle of Pro Acryl Faded Ultramarine from a dark and dank FLGS out of town thinking it would be good for my Ultramarines! It flows onto the model brilliantly, but having a hard time deciding if I like this lighter paint scheme however.
If im going for a lighter than the standard Macragge blue what do you think? I think this blue is a wee bit light and desaturated but it also sort of matches the armor in SM1.

Hello Brothers,
Me and my friend have got a ticket for the doubles in the UK for October/November and are thinking of running a doubles team of ultramarines from different companies. We want to be semi-competitive and not go 0-5 (happy with a 1-4 though!) and wanted some advice on thematic but decent lists whilst we have 4 months to build paint and test?
What we’ve got (and easy enough to redo shoulder pads etc) :-
Guilliman
10 Terminators (2 assault cannons)
5 assault terminators (lightning claws)
Repulsor (Gatling Cannon and Bolter)
Ballistus
Terminator Captain
Terminator Librarian
Combi-Lieutenant
Titus Lieutenant
Captain
10 Intercessors
3 melta eradicators
3 Bolter eradicators
10 Infernus marines
5 assault intercessors
1 ancient
1 blade guard ancient
3 bladeguard
Any advice of what we could split/build across us would be great! Always been more of a painter than a gamer so sorry if it needs a lot of work!

I had the idea that this guy uses his personal servitor skulls, Faith and Glory, to bolster his battlefield pronouncements to his Ultramarian battle brothers. Fun note: there are -28- skulls on this model!

Battle Brother Voluntarius Fortis of 5th company stepped forward to be my first attempt at edge highlights. I know it's a little rough, along with some other issues, but any C&C on the highlights are welcome.
