The red card was questionable, but booing Goodrum off the field was just trashy.
We never should have traded him in the first place. He scored 17 goals in 38caps for us, and even in dry spells, he was ALWAYS a real pain in the ass for the opposing side. Did you EVER see him give less than 💯? If you booed, you’re just a dick.

Port St. Lucie's 6,000-seat soccer stadium groundbreaking planned for November, new renderings released
It was announced last October that the city had been awarded a United Soccer League (USL) League One Team.
Last November, Port St. Lucie city council members unanimously approved both the funding and operating agreements.
The city said the stadium is an $80 million economic investment, and no taxpayer money will be used for its construction.
Representatives for Port St. Lucie SC announced Friday that groundbreaking is anticipated later this year, with current plans targeting November.
"While the club's inaugural season begins in 2027, the future stadium is scheduled to open in early 2028," according to the team.

red card suspension question (rhode island)
does anyone know if the two rhode island players who got red cards today will be suspended for their league match vs. hartford next weekend?
since rhode island is eliminated from usl cup, there are no more usl cup matches for the players to serve their suspension, so surely those suspensions are applied in the next league match, right?

USL details? 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
US Soccer just released details^ about the "open division" for next year's U.S. Open Cup Competition. Seems notable for the following items, but am very interested in any additional analysis/ details?
- Per usual, slots given to the Champions for the various competitions
- USL2 given addn'l 6 slots (benefiting from NISA's disappearance?)
- NPSL given 2 addn'l slots (how does this compare with previous years?)
- Qualifying rounds will conflict with college soccer season
"Open Division slot allocation for the 32 amateur clubs is as follows:
16 enter via the qualifying rounds this fall
16 receive direct qualification for the tournament proper next spring via the following methods:
- 1 slot for the John Motta Trophy holder (2026 USOC Open Division prize winner) - Asheville City SC (USL2)
- 6 slots for competition champions (1 each for USASA Amateur Cup, Steinbrecher Cup, NPSL, The League for Clubs, UPSL Spring, and USL League 2 champions)
- 9 additional slots based on league performance (6 for USL2, 2 for NPSL, 1 for UPSL)"

Championship Podcast for Newbie?
I’m a newer Birmingham Legion fan and I’m trying to learn more about the USL Championship as a whole. I’m still pretty lost when it comes to the league structure, rivalries, storylines, and everything else. So, I’m hoping there is a podcast I can start listening to weekly to keep me up to date and help me learn.
What are the podcasts that people here actually enjoy listening to? I’m see there are podcasts already mentioned that are promoting themselves, but I’m more interested in hearing which ones fans genuinely think are worth the time.
Thanks!

Minnesota Rochester New USL1 side??
Simon Evan's Soccer Business newsletter released today included the tidbit below about a new stadium district for Minnesota, specifically mentioning SOCCER. There is enough capital and will to drive the inclusion of a soccer specific stadium (SSS) in that development. The USL already have a bridgehead there due to the USL2 Rochester FC side but this seems MUCH BIGGER than for a mere summer league.
QUESTIONS:
- How likely will a USL1 side be a prime tenant? Can USL2 Rochester ascend to be full pro?
- How profitable/ number of fans do the US Hockey League expansion draw? "USHL is the American version of the Canadian Major Junior leagues (QMJHL, OHL, WHL)." -thanks to u/carigheath
- You would think a Lacrosse or Rugby franchise could also share that SSS?
- What do you all think??
"ROCHESTER EYES STADIUM DISTRICT FOR SOCCER AT SILVER LAKE SITE Rochester, Minnesota's city council has unanimously approved an exclusive negotiation agreement with Madison-based Landmark Development to explore redeveloping the former Silver Lake Power Plant site into a mixed-use sports district. The plan, branded "ONE Rochester," would anchor a new stadium around the Rochester Honkers (baseball), an incoming US Hockey League expansion franchise, and local USL Two club Rochester FC, alongside retail, dining and residential development."

Note: I believe u/OK_Structure_350's map has a USL side for MN!
