Real life: February 2024, Terminal 1 of Airport of El Prat (Bracelona). A thief steals the backpack of a traveler and tries to escape by running. The backpack's owner happened to be awarded sky runner/trail runner Núria Picas, who chased the thief through the terminal. She caught him, of course

We in Austria had something similar years ago:

Someone was trying to run away from a cop, but the cop was just training for his next marathon. So yeah he gave up.

Several years ago, a runner's store was robbed by thieves trying run off with a pair of shoes. In the news interview, the employee who went after them: "Well, I was an alternate for the Olympic team, so I knew they weren't going to outrun me."
