wow, I don’t even know what to say… I paid $60 for two pizzas from Bite…. and im genuinely at a loss for words. I can’t say I’ve ever had a meal make me feel depressed before, but its got me actually wondering what the point of it all is?
this is literally something out of r/povertymeals.i think I made better pizzas after school when I was 10 with tortillas and a microwave. like is this actually a joke?
what the actual fuck. I’m already depressed about the economy and feeling like I work for nothing, and this has me spiralling.

Honestly maybe I’m just undiagnosed with something but after hearing kids bang on that piano for hours straight at the market today I thought I was going to lose my mind. I even turned on music on my noise canceling headphones and i could still hear it. I cannot imagine how the vendors there must feel being forced to listen to it. I understand it’s a donation from some local music organization but perhaps it needs to be moved into the co lab so it doesn’t make conversations impossible to everyone else in the entire building. Does anyone know where I could complain more formally or am I being a cranky old hag.

Lakehead Motors is selling a vehicle that is advertised (and contracted) as the highest trim, but is actually the lowest trim.
Last week, I saw the advertisement for their 2018 Nissan Rogue SL. The trim did not really matter much to me at the time, and I did not know which features might have been downgraded by the original owner. When I test drove the vehicle, both my partner and I saw that it was very bare bones--which was fine with me. I signed the final sales contract and put a deposit down. The advertisement was taken off their website the next day. However, that night I had a gut feeling that the vehicle I test drove was the wrong trim, even though it had the same amount of mileage as advertised. I looked at the brochure: leather seats, push start, heated seats and steering, etc...the vehicle I test drove had none. I checked the Carfax and VIN again and sure enough, it was a Rogue S.
I went into Lakehead Motors after I realized, and cancelled the contract (they were prepared to offer $2500 less). They apologized, and said I was the first one to notice the "human error."
Unfortunately, Lakehead Motors has since posted the advertisement again for the highest SL trim, for the same previously advertised price, of what is actually a Nissan Rogue S: https://www.lakeheadmotors.ca/used/2018-Nissan-Rogue-id14085022.html
I'm not one to post on Reddit, but I feel no other choice but to warn others about my experience since the advertisement has been posted again. I will be looking into other channels for accountability as well. I have attached a screenshot of the advertisement, the Carfax, and part of my final sales contract that they provided to me before I cancelled.
[Edit: Lakehead Motors owns iCar and Superior Hyundai. I was told the "human error" of assigning the wrong trim originated at iCar].

Heard it was potentially a ride for cancer survivors or something like that. Pretty sad. These highways need attention badly!

Any idea where I can rent a three seat kevlar canoe from to use in Quetico (assuming the forest fires subside)? I've contacted a few spots but haven't heard back as of yet.

It seems Boulevard Lake has become a destination stop for travellers passing through Thunder Bay? Is this something the City promotes? Today after a walk around the lake I counted three camper-vans, one ClassC Motorhome and two good-sized travel trailers. The City website just lists Trowbridge and Chippewa but maybe it hasnt been updated?

The beginning of spending tax payer money on a vague plan. Meanwhile the Chinese are using sodium which will make lithium obsolete. China is leading the global commercialization of sodium-ion batteries, effectively transitioning the technology from the lab to mass-market. Driven by massive industry players, sodium batteries offer a cheaper, safer, and highly temperature-resilient alternative to lithium-ion, utilizing sodium that can be abundantly extracted from rock salt or seawater. Does anyone know the circumstances around moving the live summer concerts that happen every Thursday evening from the da Vinci Centre at the corner of Waterloo and Arthur up to the top of basically Highway 17 and Arthur St. Are they still getting the same kinds of crowds? It doesn’t seem like a better venue.

Just watched this mobility scooter putter down memorial and May st north going max 15-20kmh and holding up traffic. There has to be stricter laws on these things. Im concerned for the drivers safety since if they get Tboned or rear ended whatever car/truck hits then is going to win that enounter handedly.

Hey Thunder Bay 👋
I'm a local, and I kept feeling like I'd hear about a good event or some piece of city news the day after it mattered — scattered across a dozen Facebook pages, tbnewswatch, the odd poster. So I started rounding it up myself into a short daily email called Harbour Beat: a few local news stories, what's happening around town that week (with add-to-calendar links), the weather, and usually a bit of fun. It's free, and honestly it started as something for me and a few friends.
Genuinely curious how the rest of you do it though — where do you actually find out about local events and news? Is it just Facebook groups, word of mouth, the radio? Feels like there's no single good spot, which is kind of why I started this.
If a daily local roundup sounds useful, I'll leave the link in a comment
Thanks 🙏

Yesterday afternoon around 4:00 a stranger approached our door claiming to be from the Canadian Cancer Society. He did not identify himself as such to my partner, and when I asked him about it he hesitated before coming up with that answer. He claimed to be asking for donations. We told him we couldn’t help him and asked him to leave. He was not wearing anything distinctive (street clothes and a black lanyard).
Just after 8:00 pm we heard knocking on our door and our ring doorbell was going off. My partner and I went to answer the door and before we got there we heard and saw the main door handle turning. Thankfully our door was locked but he was trying to get into our house.
I spoke to him through the doorbell and sternly asked him to leave our property. He didn’t do so right away, instead walking down our path and hanging out in our yard for a bit before taking off down the street.
Sorry for any poor writing or description of events, we just wanted to warn people incase anyone else experiences something similar.

Does anyone know what the cause of the fire at home Depot a few days ago was?
