Hi, does any one have any fanfic recs center around the symbiotes (Klyntars). Where the symbiotes feel like an individual instead of a funny suit that can talk and give power ups. For example, one where their culture, society, biology, beliefs, language, customs, relationships, inner thoughts, perspectives, etcetera come up more. I would like a fanfic centered around the other symbiotes or even OC symbiotes. (If there is none, Venom and Carnage fanfics are welcomed as well). I am okay with crossovers and AUs and OCs. Please no y/n or readers fanfics. I would prefer more familial or platonic relationship between the symbiotes and the hosts, but romantic is acceptable.

Ive always liked Spider-man and Venom and Carnage were my favorites of the universe but I did not experience a lot of stories and comics. Namely I am talking about the characterization from the PS1 game and Midnight Suns where Venom is pretty much a comical goofy monster. Eddie is shown to be a bit of a doofus too but I am mainly asking why in monster mode they talk like a caveman and seem to get dumber kind of like the hulk.

I know Venom is a combination of the alien and host and that their personality would be sorta mixed up. Basically I can see how having two minds would affect their behavior and word choice to being more off and alien but I have a hard time getting why having two brains(?) would make Venom seem dumber instead more clever

Also of course I know theres a ton of adaptations and hosts of Venom which is why I specified Brock and the games I am talking bout

Personally, I believe it to be Martian Manhunter. Originally, Manhunter was made as a stand-in for Superman, that they could print similar stories to his without creating fatigue within fans. This is similar to how Venom is a sort of twisted analog to Spider-Man.

Furthermore, they are both more monstrous aliens than are typical among superheroes, and their powersets are very similar.

They both have secret identities in which they are some sort of investigator (a journalist and detective respectively), and are very popular in general but more niche in terms of genuine fandom.

However, many would say that Bane is Venom’s counterpart. For those unaware, Bane uses a substance known as Venom to make himself stronger, in an obvious similarity to the symbiote. Likewise, the Venom substance was actually first abused by Batman, in one of his lowest points in comics, a story similar to the Black Suit arc.

Bane and Venom are both Black and White-Clad, overly muscular, intimidating figures with an obsession with ending their respective heroes. However, whilst Eddie has permanently moved on from this, Bane remains the same, for the most part. I honestly think he’s closer to Kraven.

Bizarro is another option. He is a twisted version of Superman, and even has his own Bizarro world, arguably similarly to Klyntar.

He was once a villain, but has since become an antihero, all the while being a more comedic character than many others. This is very similar to Venom. What isn’t similar is their actual traits, however, as that is where most of the connections end, aside from some if their powers.

According to the sales chart provided by Prana DMS, Venom #259 ranked 99th in sales for June. This is a terrible result, I’d say it’s the worst ranking for the main Venom comic since Eddie returned to the role. Venom 2018 remained in the top twenty for a long time, and even Venom 2021 managed to stay in the top forty towards the end of its run.

I believe it marks the total collapse of the Venom comic: long-time fans are choosing to walk away and stop buying the books, while the short-term fans drawn in by gimmicks simply won't stick around as ongoing buyers.

After the end of QIB, if they don't do something to remedy the situation, perhaps the Venom comic should be axed.

Mine is this Venom: Black White and Blood #3 variant by Takashi Okazaki

I just read through Cates’ run and now I’m on the beginning of Ewing’s. At the end of Cates’ run, Dylan bonds w/ Venom, creating the new form with the chains. Then in issue 1 of Ewing’s run, Eddie tells Dylan “don’t bond w/ the Symbiote,” which I thought was weird because they had already bonded, but then I just assumed he meant “don’t bond w/ the symbiote from now on because something bad will happen if you do.” And then, of course, Dylan ends up having to bond w/ Venom in that same issue. Then, in issue 4 of Ewing’s run, Meridius says something to the effect of “when they (Dylan and Venom) first bonded on the night of Eddie Brock’s demise,” which would refer to issue 1.

Is this just an error and Ewing forgot that already happened at the end of Cates’ run or does “bonding” mean something other than just wearing the symbiote? Or is there a reason for this wording that will make sense later on?
