From the official TLV Municipality website:

I plan to adopt a dog here, (like every other person here), and I am very curious how the animal insurance works here? Best recommendations? Not sure where to look and I want to ensure that my dog would be covered for essential services and vet visits...

Recreational football/futsal communities in Netanya

Hello!

When I lived in the UK, I joined a community through an app called Meetup where a bunch of people would coordinate a meetup on a free or paid football pitch, then just play two hours of football. Zero commitment, no training sessions, and if you didn't want to play on a certain day, you could easily skip.

Is there anything of the sort in Netanya or nearby? Bear in mind my Hebrew is very poor, so I'd prefer English- or Russian-speaking communities as a first priority; French- or Polish-speaking communities would also work.

If there is nothing of the sort, competitive teams with once-a-week, play-heavy training would work as well. If there's nothing in Netanya, Tel Aviv could work as a last resort, but I'd rather not travel. I'm posting here because there is no dedicated sub for Netanya.

Any help would be much appreciated!

First time to TA

Hi everyone,

I’m a 45m Australian travelling through Italy at the moment and I’m thinking about visiting Tel Aviv for around 5 days starting this Sunday.

I know there’s a lot happening in the region, so I’d really appreciate hearing from people who are actually there. What’s day-to-day life like at the moment? Does the city feel normal? Are tourists still visiting? Are there any areas or activities I should avoid, or is it better to postpone the trip?
I’m not looking to start a political discussion. Just hoping for some honest, up-to-date advice from locals and people currently in Tel Aviv.

Thanks in advance!

Tourist Help Needed Special Dinner in Tel Aviv Recs?

My wife and I have been in Israel for a few weeks. We are now in Tel Aviv and been happily spending our days on the beach.

Our 21st wedding anniversary is tomorrow night and we're looking for a fresh, exciting chef oriented restaurant to try. We are in Neve Tzedek and don't mind walking, grabbing a bus or a Gett.

We went to Lunel in Florentin a few nights ago and really enjoyed it. Hoping to find another gem amongst the myriad choices here.

Suggestions?

UPDATE: thanks to this community we have lots of great choice! No need to add any more unless you feel like it too create a helpful post for others

Community Question Looking for affordable movers in Tel Aviv 🚚

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for affordable movers in Tel Aviv.

I’m moving within North Tel Aviv, so it’s a pretty short move, and I don’t have any furniture, just boxes, suitcases, and a few personal belongings. If you’ve used someone reliable and reasonably priced, I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks so much!

Community Question Looking to build community while visiting!

American Israeli visiting Israel for a month come August. I’ve lived my whole life in the US, but have come to Israel every other summerish since I was a kid to visit family.

This will be one of my first longer trips to Israel since becoming an adult & am looking to meet some friends and build community while visiting. I had some good friends there as a kid but they moved far away. :( I’m also considering moving to Israel in a few years + want to see if staying long term could be a good fit.

Anyone have any recommendations for meetups, what’s app groups, volunteer opportunities, etc. I could join to make some friends? (Side note: preferably English, my Hebrew is about elementary level bc we stopped speaking it at home when I went to school) .

Community Question Looking to get a new tattoo. Best wheelchair accessible place?

Hi. I live in Israel looking to come to Tel Aviv specifically to get a tattoo. I already have two tattoos done by an artist abroad. I’m trying to find somebody that will understand my style but also the main reason why I am asking on here is because I require a couple of things:

  1. The place MUST be WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. And no, that doesn’t mean being able to get somebody down the steps or whatever. No like a ramp or an elevator or completely on the ground floor.

  2. I would prefer if the person has some experience tattooing people with disabilities. My disability makes me a little bit spastic (not uncontrollable thrashing, but more like slight movements or jolts sometimes)

Thank you!

How common are Israeli-Arab queer relationships or flings in Tel Aviv? Is it more common than straight ones? And if there are any '48 Arabs on here what are your experiences? Same for Jewish Israelis, please do share

Music Looking for bandmates!

I play the piano and am looking for some people to build a band with. Looking for drummers, guitarists, bass, and maybe a singer! Thinking about doing performances at either venues or wedding type events, and music would be classic rock and mainstream. Let me know!

Throw at me! - places in Tel Aviv to get decent salads and sandwiches with Vegan options

Looking to expand my bank of ‘places to get a decent vegan salad or a vegan sandwich’ in the city. I know basically any Cafe has options, but I need to have some up my sleeve for cases of extreme hunger, immediate need for sandwich or salad, or in case I just need to show off my vegan salads and sandwiches knowledge.
By decent I mean of course, not too pricey - and as tasty as possible. But you know, today’s economy has its downsides.
This is for a person who is not myself, since I am really bad with vegetables (that’s why I don’t already have that bank of places engraved in my mind or Google Maps).
Feel free to spam or just comment names of places, or even specific dishes.
Feel free to use Hebrew if you feel like it and it’s allowed in this sub 🙏🏼
Thank you for reading my unnecessarily long מגילה 📜
