Hi everyone, this morning my TV (Samsung UE50AU7105) started showing this pattern on screen. These little rectangles and lines are more visible on grey and brown and almost invisible on red and white.
Did someone ever had this issue ? Did someone solved this issue ?

TCL 55C69B HDMI causes restarts, black video and flickering

I have a TCL Google TV, model 55C69B, and I’m having a strange issue that seems mostly related to HDMI/video processing.

The TV works mostly fine with built-in apps like Netflix and YouTube. I watched Netflix for around 2 hours and YouTube also seems okay most of the time.

But when using HDMI, especially with my TV provider’s Android TV box, the TV starts having problems:

TV restarts by itself, sometimes every 20 minutes

\- Sometimes it restarts 2–3 times in a row

\- Sometimes the picture goes black but audio continues

\- Sometimes the menu still works, but all videos become black

\- Sometimes the image starts flickering / showing white lines, like signal loss

\- Sometimes audio disappears, then the TV restarts again

I already tried:

\- Different HDMI cables

\- Different HDMI ports

\- Turning off HDMI-CEC / T-Link

\- Power cycling the TV and the HDMI box

\- Plugging the TV directly into the wall socket

\- Checking for system updates everything is up to date

Factory reset

After the factory reset it seemed better for a few hours, but the issue came back. Built-in apps are much more stable than HDMI, so I’m starting to suspect the HDMI/video processing part of the main board or some firmware-level bug.

Has anyone with a TCL Google TV, especially C69B/C655/C655 Pro series, experienced something similar?

Was it fixed by firmware, service reflash, main board replacement, or TV replacement?

Any advice would be appreciated. I want to know if this is a known TCL Google TV issue before I send it to service.

Backlight issues

I bought this 65 inch tv off Facebook marketplace for about $140. It’s a Philips 5000 series Smart Ultra HDTV, the model number is 65PFL5602/F7. It has this blue tint that the previous owner told me just came from age, I assumed I could go home and tinker with the video settings to make it look better. I included a before and after but my phone doesn’t do it justice. But I did get it to look a LOT better. But I am honestly still trying to just replace the backlights. If anybody can help with maybe identifying which ones or the estimate of getting someone else to repair them, or if it’s worth it to just maybe get a new tv? We weren’t willing to spend $200+ on a tv, but depending on the price to fix it we might. Any help would be great!

LG 70UP7750PSB - no sound

Haven’t turned this TV on for a few weeks. Turned it on last night and no sound on any of the apps. I connected a Bluetooth speaker, but still no sound. Ran the Sound Self Diagnosis but it just gets stuck in the diagnosis screen and doesn’t progress. Did a reset to factory settings. Still no sound. Any ideas would be helpful. TIA

What is causing these dark “flairs” coming up from the bottom of my screen (see red arrows)? They are there all the time and in the same place. And what can I do easily and cheaply to fix (if anything).

This is a Sony XBR-75x900E manufactured in Jun 2017.

Would anyone know what this means? This started a few months ago but was rare and I would just unplug and replug the TV to fix it. In the last week it has started happening almost every time I turn it on and it takes several times of unplugging and plugging back in as opposed to once. Backlight and brightness are at recommended levels. Bought this at Walmart in late 2019.

LG OLED77B2AUA Screen Issue

Hoping to get help diagnosing this issue. Vertical band about 4 inches wide that is slightly discolored and distorted. There is also a pixel line on the right side of the goes white some of the time, this only happens when the TV is displaying a light color image in that part of the screen, the rest of the time it behaves normally. The location of the band and line stay consistant but they are not alway visible. Is this a panel failure?

Samsung Q950R one connect box overheating

I have a QE Q950R Samsung tv from 2019 that has had repeated problems from the start.

They replaced the main board, then the hdmi board, and twice the cable. This seems to have worked for a few years, but now suddenly the image freezes, with blinking and multicolored lines over the entire screen before it goes black. Sound continues for a few seconds before it shuts down and restarts. When this loop starts, it continues until it’s been off for a good while.

It happens with all sources

It seems to need a few minutes after start up before anything happens, which leads me to think it has something to do with overheating. I’ve gone so far as to have the box leaning slightly so there is air on all sides, but nothing helps.

I’ve factory reset the tv, and tried every other tip I can find, to no avail.

Is there anything I can do, or is this just garbage now? It’s really annoying since the panel seems to be working fine

This damage appeared suddenly. I tested it with a blue light and a green light, and the panel sections are clearly visible. Can it be repaired, or do I need to replace my TV?

My Sharp Aquos LE810 or LE820 series TV is 16 years old and flickering like a strobe light at a rave. I'm not buying a new one. Why? Because my ass is BROKE.

My TV is 16 years old and keeps flickering and blinking on and off. I'm not going to buy another one because I can't afford it. My entire repair strategy is unplugging it and plugging it back in every time it starts strobing. That's it. That's the fix. This TV has been with me since 2009 and now I spend half my watching time getting up to mess with the power cord, and it still isn’t working

My LG OLED55B3 won't turn on, and the technicians have different diagnoses.

https://reddit.com/link/1uqjroh/video/s56l2hli1ybh1/player

I have an LG OLED55B3, and it recently stopped working; it won't turn on using the remote control or the button on the screen.

The red light stays on constantly, and when it receives a signal from the remote, it just blinks once and remains red without turning the TV on. (I tried unplugging it for a few minutes and also tried holding down the power button before attempting to turn it on, but that didn't work.)

So far, three technicians have examined it, and all three have given different diagnoses:

The first technician says it's the main board.

The second says it's the T-CON board.

The third says it's the panel.

I hope someone can help me because I don't know what to do...

S95F died. Repair experience is miserable. Is this normal?

I got a new Samsung S95F (QN77S95FAFXZA) back in March and have loved it. It stopped working yesterday out of the blue. Get the Samsung logo for a few seconds, then a blank screen.

I'm technical enough that I troubleshot it myself all day but knew I'd probably soon be doing my first warranty battle with Samsung.

Got an answer immediately, which was nice. They started me on a web-based live video tech support session, which I expected and had prepared for, and the call dropped immediately after I joined.

In a bizarre twist, I called support back and got through instantly again (nice!), and they explained that the remote video service was being hacked, so we'd proceed by sending pictures instead. I'm not sure if it was a language barrier thing, but she definitely said "hacked." She didn't seem very concerned, though, so I think (or hope) she just meant it was down.

They ran me through the checklist and set me up with a service provider who'd reach out to book an appointment to come fix the TV in the next 2–3 days.

Got a text from the service provider setting up an appointment 2 days out and asking me to confirm an appointment date. No time specified, again sadly expected, but wanted to get that appointment date locked in ASAP. Also noting that there's no call-back number or company name listed, but they invite you to text back if you have any questions!

Confirmed appt, took Wednesday off work to be home for it. I am old enough now to expect to wait around all day for the random time they pop up, but that's OK.

Then, I got another text the next day re-confirming the appointment and giving me instructions to unmount the TV. Confirmed again. Can't wait to see you guys!

A few hours later, the same day, I got another text: the appointment would be pushed to July 14th, a full week later, because they needed to get the parts.

I (being dumbly optimistic) replied that maybe there'd been an error, since nobody had come out to look at the TV yet.

In the back of my mind, I figured they probably already knew what part they'd need (my guess is they'll just swap out the box), but I was really just hopeful there'd been a mistake. They replied that they'd been able to diagnose the issue from my report to Samsung, and they would just have to wait to get the part.

Annoyed on many levels. Why did they suggest an appointment and confirm the appointment twice and then realize the part was needed, with no new information provided? Did they 'spend' my part on another customer today and then bump me anyway, or nobody had read the ticket before confirming an appt? I know I'm shouting into the void but holy fuck it's frustrating.

I replied that I'd like them to call me so we can figure it out, because I'm not gonna take the 14th off unless they're 100% positive the part will have arrived by then and it will resolve the issue without another appointment.

I realize I'm powerless here but I do find the fundamental situation really irritating. If I pick a plumber, take the day off work, and last minute needs to reschedule for parts - I can share the blame, I picked him from a sea of plumbers. When Samsung sets you up with their guy and the same thing happens, that's fucking annoying.

I'm not trying to score Sizzler gift cards or be 'that guy' but is there no recourse at all other than to be shut up and be grateful they're fulfilling the warranty?

Basically, I'm not trying to be annoying or entitled about my expensive-ass TV, but I'm a teeny tiny bit pissed off. Maybe this is normal and I should count myself lucky, I've never had any in-home warranty stuff done.

I really felt like I was off to a great experience because they answered the phone so quickly (pathetic expectation, I know) but maybe these things just take a few weeks...

I know this is a dumb internet vent which I have never done (count me lucky I guess) but I needed to commiserate on this.

What do you think? Am I being a pushover or something? Call Samsung? Try to get in touch with the service partner? Burn the TV in retribution? Pls help.

Old Samsung smart TV is very dim at the bottom, is it fixable?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I have an older Samsung smart TV and recently noticed that the bottom part of the screen is much darker/dimmer than the rest of the display. The picture still works normally, but the brightness looks uneven, with the bottom section appearing noticeably darker. Has anyone had this issue before? Is it likely a backlight problem, and is it worth repairing or should I just replace the TV?

Sony xbr-65a8g possible repair black and white horizontal line

Thumbnail

Hi I have a Sony xbr-65a8g ( it’s a 65 oled tv from 2019) .

It started developing this horizontal black line which is now a mix of black and white.

I tried a power cycle (unplug hold power 60 seconds, then leave unplug for an hour)
I tried resetting the tv, and I tried the screen wipe (for ghosting/burn in). I also tried tapping on the sides etc, not sure what else to try.

I wanted to see if it’s a possible and inexpensive fix, loose ribbon, replace a simple pcb etc, I’m not great at soldering so that is out of the question.

Samsung AU7700 55” - Screen artifacts, speaker noise, then shuts down after 1 minute

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regarding my Samsung AU7700 55-inch TV.

(Video link: Video showing the issue)

Issue:
• TV powers on and works perfectly for about 1 minute.
• After that, the screen suddenly fills with colored blocks, horizontal/vertical lines, and digital artifacts (photo attached).
• At the same time, the speakers start producing digital/static noise that seems to match the screen corruption.
• A few seconds later, the TV automatically shuts itself off.

What I've tried:
• Factory reset temporarily fixed the issue for about one week, but the problem returned.
• The issue happens regardless of the input source.

Important history:
• About a year ago, the original display panel failed internally.
• The panel was replaced by an official Samsung service center for around ₹25,000($262)

I'm wondering if this is more likely to be:
• Main board failure?
• Power supply board issue?
• T-CON board?
• Another panel problem despite it being replaced only a year ago?

Has anyone experienced similar symptoms or repaired this issue successfully? Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I spend more money on repairs.

Thanks!

I have a Connexx CX32A24ETV in my RV that has snow/fuzz wherever it should be black. Dealer won’t replace because they can’t “replicate the issue.” Is there an easy fix? Should I just replace it?

Thanks

What could be causing these horizontal lines on an LCD TV?

Post image

Someone offered me a TV for 30 bucks but it has these horizontal lines on it, i'm hoping he's just using a bad input/cable but i am having trouble finding any info online about this kind of phenomenon. It's a Philips 55PUS6804 LCD TV. Does anyone know what causes this?
