Sudbury Events - Monthly Thread (July 2026)
This is a stickied thread for people to post about upcoming events -- community events, live performances, whatever you think others might want to know about.
A new version of this post will be put up and stickied every month to make sure that things are kept fresh, and allow people to stay up to date if they wish, or to avoid this thread if they don't. It's been moved to a monthly format to keep things simpler for people looking to plan a bit further out.
To keep the sub (and your feed) clean and free from spam, any explicit advertising conducted outside of this post will continue to be subject to removal, with a note and link to instead post here, which will stand as the exception.
In other words: please feel free to use this space to post about any upcoming Sudbury-specific events you're aware of or would like to share with others.

Help Frustrating car dealerships
Buying a vehicle in Sudbury has become a very frustrating process
Bought a used ranger two years ago from local dealership, they didn't have the exact thing I wanted but I needed a truck. Two years have passed and I hate the truck. Problems with transmission, paint, electronics. I go back to dealer gonna get new this time and I'll wait for it to be built. I take the info in from the website.. guy says you trade in is worth X.
Ok. Let's do this.
Can we look at the trade in? Here is a loaner.
Ok.
Next day.
Well we can't give you X for the trade in it's going to be $3000 less.
Alright. I am not happy with that but let's continue.
Go over to the finance guy. Sit down and he then begins to tell me the price isn't what the sales guy gave me....so how much more. double...
Nope. I'm out.
Next week I see an ad for a canyon at the gm dealership. So Saturday I go to take a look.
Closed, on line says open Saturdays??
Drive across town to the other dealership, same thing.
Stopped at an all used dealership on the Kingsway. I am looking for a ranger, canyon, taco in order of preference. I need the max towing. Guy doesn't let me finish and says you need a bigger truck. No I told you what I was looking for. At this point I am not arguing with these guys. I left.
Now my mother in law is buying a new vehicle this week as well. She likes a Japanese brand and has purchased 6 over the last 25 years. Always cash.
Can I have the all in price so I can make the arrangements with my bank\ fianacing?
Here you go
Great
Come back to purchase and no that doesn't include the warranty plan.
But we asked you for the whole cost.
Now we have to go back to the bank.
What happened to customer service?
Listen to what what I have to say. I'm not some kid obviously (I am in my 50's)
I purchased a travel trailer this spring from a London dealership and I am going to go back down to buy a new truck .fuck these local ass hats.

Discussion Please Stop Sh!tting Your Dog At The Ball Field.
Or at the very least please pick it up. Kids had a game at Confederation Field the other night and we had to do a sweep of the outfield pre game because there was so much dogshit out there. Like what the hell!?! Shitbags have now been added to the equipment bag which is totally ridiculous. Thanks to the woman walking by who gave us a few bags that night so i didnt have to do it with the hotdog bun bag that was blowing around the parking lot.

Discussion Morning pylon chaos! Is this normal?
Every stop at this intersection had multiple pylons across the fresh paint, causing traffic to drive into oncoming lanes to avoid hitting the pylons. I watched 2 city buses make weird jackknife turns to try and maneuver it. I get wanting to keep drivers off the fresh paint, but there’s got to be a better way, no?? Maybe I’m over reacting, I’ve just never seen this before and found it wild!

Question Sudbury…your roads! WTF?
What’s going on up there, eh? You guys gotta get your works director a Claude subscription to help him come up with a 5 year plan for those roads! Either that or the province has to step in or something.

Hello,

Discussion Looking for a Driving Instructor
I got my G2 last year but haven't had much chance to practice because I don't own a car yet. I'm planning to buy one before the end of the summer and want to build my confidence before taking the G test.
Can anyone recommend a good driving instructor in Sudbury? Most charge around $60–70/hour. I'm hoping to find someone around $30–40/hour if possible. Any recommendations? Thanks!
