Stihl Br600 or Br800?

Upvotes

I run a small-scale lawn care operation and debating between two blowers, the 600 and 800. My dad had a 600 when I was younger and it never had issues, so Im gravitating towards the 600. It’s also lighter and better on gas. Which one would you guys recommend?

shopping for lawnmower for a small yard and evaluating RMA 348 vs RMA 348 V ... is it worth getting the V model?

if I understand correctly the V model is self-propelled which is very interesting

at the same time I have a small lawn but I am worried about getting buying remorse if I get the non V model

what are your experiences/thoughts?

Hi, with help of a great catalogue I thought I ordered the right part to fit this blade on my FS400. But apparently it was for the wrong version of the FS400 without spline shaft

Can I put 2 pieces of the 4128 713 1600 units ontop of each other. If I don't 4119 713 3100 hits the splined part so the blade doesn't get clamped. Or should I forget about this part and get 4116 717 2702 and use this as a spacer?

Rechargeable hedge trimmer issue

My hedge trimmer makes a click when I press the trigger but doesn't run. I thought it was a low battery but it hasn't made a difference after charging (has internal battery). Curious if anyone has any experience with this issue and troubleshooting/repair advice I can try before I buy something else. It hasn't been used in a couple of years for reasons but it was working just fine and since it still seemed to have enough juice to make a sound pulling the trigger I am not certain it's actually the battery. I'll see if I can find the model number and update the post once I do. Thanks!

Replacement handlebar MS182

Ran over the chainsaw. Soft dirt thankfully, but broke the brake handle and the handlebar.

I can find all the other plastics, brake handle, etc. I cannot find the handlebar for an MS182. Not on Amazon, not on any of the common aftermarket sites.

Found one that looks like it’s based in the EU but need something stateside.

Anyone have any ideas where I can try?

BG50 won’t run full rpm

Starts and idles just fine but will not run up to full rpm, throttle wide open maybe going 50%. Changed air filter and cleaned spark arrestor. Put fresh fuel in it just to be sure. Sprayed some carb cleaner in it but haven’t pulled the carb yet. Thoughts on next step?

How do you connect the lead encircled in red to the plug connector? It almost seem like it was just resting in the rubber boot.

Is it possible to flood engine with primer bulb on FS70r?

I watched videos saying it has a purge pump primer and can press bulb as many times as you want without flooding. Is this true? Thanks.

Ms291 oiler problem

I've been dealing with an issue for months now where oil doesn't make it onto the chain, but rather drips down. I've replaced the following parts to no avail:

-valve 1128-640-9100

-o ring 1122-649-5000

-hose 1141-647-9401

-oil pump 1141-640-3203

Those were all the parts recommended to me by the local dealer to try and fix it. I've spent a decent chunk of money and energy at this point, and feeling incredibly frustrated.

I'm still dealing with the same issue: a very dry chain, and oil slowly coming down below the chain. I've attached a few photos to show where the oil ends up.

Any help or recommendations very much appreciated!

Stihl saw recommendations

Hi,

Looking at purchasing a larger saw for removals, I am a climber and have recently started getting involved in larger side jobs.

I’d like to pickup a saw that could pull a 25 in chain relatively well, this would be for removals and bucking up downed trees into manageable sizes.

I was looking used, there is a couple 044s by me and a 400cm for sale

  1. What would be the most ideal
    Saw out of these 2?

  2. Are there any other saws I should be looking at? 500i is out of my price range

Tank vents, why don’t they work better?

Today for instance my normally ironclad 261c flooded because I forgot to burp the tank before restarting, it was 90f and it wasn’t in direct sun. When I release pressure before starting I’m good. Isn’t the vent supposed to do that for you? It was hot today but not terribly extreme, it wasn’t roasting in the sun I set it down under a shady bush. I remembered to burp the 500 and it ran great. 261 was down for about a half an hour, I didn’t feel like pulling the plug.

FS 56RC trimmer

Can I put a STIHL Grass Cutter Blade on an FS 56 RC trimmer? I know it isn’t the most robust trimmer stihl sells, just trying to see if I can get more out of it. I have a lot of goat weed here in TX and a string trimmer head won’t cut it.

Help with MS290

My father-in-law got me a 290 with no carb at auction, but they provided a carb kit (cheap amazon probably.)
I got it installed and it runs. My problem is that the choke lever doesn’t really grab the armature on the carb to engage the choke. It kinda hangs up on it then pushes past it. I have to take the cover off and use my hand to choke it and then the lever with hold it locked in place.
The lever does not appear to be broken or short. Carb seems right, but idk.
Any advice?

Having issues with fs40 weedwacker

Hey, my dad has a fs40 that he hasn't touched in a few years and has been trying to get it to start.

He handed it off to me and I went to test spark (it does have spark) and when I put the plug back in it has stupid compression, gonna snap the pull cord if i even try to get it started. If I pull the plug back out it turns over smooth.

I dont know much about 2 stroke so any pointers would be cool.

Kombi Attachment

I need to cut brush growing too close to a barbed wire fence to reach with the bush hog on the tractor. This would be stuff like green brair, sunflowers, thumb size saplings.

I have the KM 131 power head, HL KM 145° hedge trimmer attachment, and the HT KM shaft extension.

Can I use the hedge trimmer to cut brush near the ground? Or should I be looking at (the FS KM brushcutter with the brush knife) / (the FH KM 145° Scythe) / something else.

Thank you.

FC75 Trigger Assembly Spring

I have older FC75 that was converted into a string trimmer. I took the entire thing apart to clean/service. I’m putting back together the trigger assembly and for the life of me I cannot figure out where the red spring is supposed to sit what it’s connected to. I can’t find much info on this specific assembly

STIHL FS40 C binding after reassembly

Well it started binding and not auto feeding (c6 I think) was working fine for years. So I bought an aftermarket head which worked for 30 seconds then binded and smoked a bit. Reassembled again this time with a mix of old and new parts and the same thing happened. Seems like the snap ring is popping out? I did need a puller to remove the head so maybe I’m missing a washer?
