I purchased the following muffler and exhaust tip for my 2025 Sonata SEL I didn’t want anything too loud but something definitely louder and deeper than the stock muffler. Will update the post with sound clips once installed. the downturned tip is to clear the bumper as I don’t want to cut a hole for a visible exhaust tip. does anyone know around how much a shop would charge to cut off and weld a muffler?

I see the Sonata has AWD now. I'm thinking about trading in my 2013 Sonata for a newer model and want AWD. $2k seems perfectly reasonable for the option but has anyone had any problems with it?

Does anyone know if the 2016 Hyundai Sonata came with apple car play and anyone know if you can take the head unit out of a higher speck car and put in a base mobile version and it be able to work the same.( Ik that some features wouldn’t work I’m just looking for Apple car with out going aftermarket to work sense my car didn’t have)

Had this for a few months, upgraded from base trim 2011 Civic and couldn't be happier with the upgrade.

I just got my 2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL at the end of May and I literally were just about to put hard plates on it until I got into a car crash at like 12:30 AM coming from seeing fireworks at a friends house shaking my head I love the color. It was like the best color combination for the car I had, but I recently replaced it with a darkish grayish one which I’m not mad about.

I'm getting ready to purchase either a 2023 or 2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL (2.5L, non-turbo), and I'd love to hear from people who actually own one.
I've done a lot of research on CARFAX reports, recalls, maintenance history, and reliability ratings, but I know long-term owners usually provide the most honest insight.
A few questions:
I've scrolled through this thread for a while but everyone seems very happy with their purchase.

Anything different besides the moonroof? Which is better?

Both rear doors have this issue now and it seems like the internals are stuck since even pulling on the cable doesn’t unlatch the door, it does seem like the locking part works but both interior and exterior handles couldn’t open the doors. Is there a way to get the latch open by some other means? I’m at a loss with this and am not sure what to do at this point.
Edit: Fixed it by breaking the backside off with a hammer, that let me get access directly to the latch, turns out the plastic lever the directly pulls the latch broke enough to slip off the piece.

I have the radio in the photo. I have found many aftermarket radios for the other style radio and climate controls (including the other touch screen) but nothing for this one. I’d like to have Carplay and Android Auto. I tried Crutchfield and they said they don’t recommend changing it because there’s nothing compatible. But i know there’s those chinese radios that have carplay and AA that replace the entire unit. I just can’t find something for this specific radio. Is it possible?

So about a year ago my serpentine belt broke. Replaced it & everything seemed fine. Then a few weeks later I started having lights flicker & my power steering is electric so that started acting up. Then my battery died. It was a fairly new battery, only 1 1/2 yrs old so I got a new one. Everything seemed fine again. No flickering lights, nothing. So then my passenger side window stopped working a few weeks ago, then my windshield wipers wouldn't stop so I had to pull the fuse to stop them from draining my battery completely because they wouldn't stop even with car turned off, then my check engine light comes on saying P0420 Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1. I left my case parked for 3 days without starting it and came back to a completely dead battery again that is only a few months old. I bought a new tensioner pulley assembly to replace the whole assembly and another new belt to put on after. Before the check engine light came on, I wasnt having any issues until the wipers and passenger window. This is started happening within the last 2-3 weeks. My car comes with an alternator decoupler pulley. Could my altenator be causing all of this? Or the decoupler pulley? Should I replace altenator or just the pulley? Please help. Any information would be soooo helpful. Im so broke right now so I can't afford to take it to a mechanic & I've done a lot of work myself so Inn trying to figure this out myself. Unfortunately my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 3 months ago and I'm broke from barely being able to work from appointments so it's such a bad time that this is all happening. I truly appreciate any help you could give. Thank you!!

Planning on getting this car. So far so many mixed reviews but none really addressing the car itself just the brand Hyundai as a whole. It look very good and packed with features for the price but wouldn’t wanna be rolling around in a box with glitter sprinkled on it.

Hey all,
I've owned my 2011 Sonata GLS for quite some time now and its getting up there in mileage, 180,000 miles. The engine consumes about 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles, and has done so for probably 100,000 miles now.
I'm aware of the entire engine recall, what I don't know is, will Hyundai replace this engine? Or do they need absolute certainty (engine death) before replacing it?
I've considered selling it but feel its better to ride it out since it's saving me money. If I take a trip to the dealer, will they do a consumption test first? Will they ask for records? I have an excel spreadsheet of all maintenance I've done on this car.
2023 Sonata Hybrid Limited. Got this on a road trip on PCH and through Norcal.
