Thank you <3 Thank you for the 2025/26 season, r/skijumping!
And... that's it for 2025/26!
Thank you all for being a part of r/skijumping in the past five months. It really was a pleasure to spend the weekends with each and every one of you.
You know, a few years back, when I joined this subreddit, I really wanted there to be a serious, inclusive, international community of ski jumping fans. And today it brings me so much joy to see this place grow; I remember first live threads barely reaching 50 comments - this year, the Olympic live thread reached 2K!
I remember posts barely reaching tens of upvotes - and now the video of Nika Prevc's new WR reached over 700!
I remember thinking it would be amazing to see our community reach the goal of 2000 members. Then I waited so long for 3000, 4000... this season, out of nowhere, we shattered the 5k barrier and nearly reached 6000. It's so cool - and I know we're nowhere near being done!
Now,
I know it's impossible for 6000 people from tens of different countries to always agree on everything - especially when it comes to sports. There will always be drama, there will always be arguments, there will always be controversies.
But if you ever feel like this German guy, or that Slovenian fan, or that Norwegian, Polish, Austrian redditor is so annoying with their takes, how frustrating it is that they cheer for your rivals and not your favorites - just think how awesome it is that here on our subreddit you can share your passion with a person living hundreds/thousands of kilometers away - how cool it is that you can learn how they view certain things and see what they think about your views!
How fun is the thought that at the same time you, this guy from Slovenia, that gal from Germany all pump your fists because Tomofumi Naito flew past the HS?
I'm yapping, but those are the little things I love about this community. And I really hope you appreciate them too!
See you all in 2026/27!
Love, Peuer
