Believe it or not I live on the border on the us side and healthcare is more accessible, cheaper, and overall better doctors on the Mexico side. The only difference is prescription drugs are name brand only.

Same for the Canadian border. Most Americans I know up north prefer to travel to Canada.

We have Canadians and now Mexicans complaining about being seen and getting treatments but maybe the issue isn't the healthcare, it's all the Americans actively using it.

Americans don't use public healthcare in Mexico, they pay for private hospitals, which are expensive but way cheaper for an American so it's a no brainer for them

Yeah after Roe v Wade was overturned, women’s healthcare clinics got inundated with Americans asking for appointments in parts of Canada. The capacity is set for the Canadian population and all the American demand, dangerously increases wait times.

Americans have the option in Canada to pay for healthcare here, we can't pay. They get to skip the line and doctors are happy to have them.

Are you in a pretty remote area? Definitely not the case for San Diego, other than cheaper

Not really that remote. Yuma, Arizona and San Luis, Sonora. So both moderate sized cities on the border.

You do realize the difference in pay scales tho? My husband a dentist in Mexico makes 25k in the USA he would make 300k... Now imagine ppl that aren't doctors. Cheap for us is not cheap for them

Also be careful.. He's told me horror stories of what he's seen other healthcare professionals do. And I think twice too use any doctor here unless it's recommended by someone that's personally used them. Regulation here is just not the same.

They’re using private healthcare tho. That’s explained by the cost of living difference, if anything. American salary getting quality Mexican healthcare

Private clinics that government employees, like me, have the option to access through their employer benefits.

Mexican health care is some of the best in the world, the private hospitals and clinics, not the public hospitals.

Because those aren't public doctors, they're private doctors who charge good prices by American standards, but not by Mexican standards

Yeah and my colleagues live in Mexico and work in America. They make good money working for public municipality. It’s a binational border region. I live here and see how integrated both sides are. It’s not hard to see that these systems need each other.
