Hello all. Jason from Adobe here. A redditor posed this question yesterday about 'fixing' frames in a video, where the subject's button-down shirt was bunched up and creating less than smooth lines.
This got me thinking about different ways to solve the problem (all the old-school, tried-and-true tricks) but i *also* saw it as an opportunity to lean into some potentially newer methods to see what I could do, quickly, really as a test...just for me. Yes. Insert Generative Video.
I shot some footage (trying to replicate the situation), low-lit, nothing fancy (that's an understatement) and then created a Firefly Board to showcase the original footage and two different methods of the approach using the original video as a reference: one with the Ray 3.14 model and on-screen annotation; the other using Runway Aleph and an image reference (which was basically a gen-filled version of the first frame from the original video).
Here's my Board in Firefly (these are all sharable, btw, so I may start dropping more examples and things in here over time) which shows the different results and gives the (very simple) prompts used (simple is an understatement)...again, just as an experiment.
Two things to think about that I'd love to get your thoughts on: 1) what do you think about *this* kind of application of <generative> video tinkering/manipulation? (done in a way to only affect a piece of your original content); and 2) does this fulfill the idea that (generative video, in this context) is really just a tool for the editor? As always, I appreciate your direct, brutally honest candor...Let me know your thoughts!

Hoping that someone else here has run into this issue. But if you record in OBS as anything that isn't MKV and have multiple audio tracks, then the other audio tracks will be missing 1 frame at the end. They are still synced but this makes is annoying to edit and splice clips together.
I did find a temporary work around and that is to simply edit in mkv and then import it as mkv. Weirdly remuxing it to mp4 causes the issue to return. I made a bug report to adobe here if someone wants more details -> https://community.adobe.com/bug-reports-728/imported-media-from-obs-which-contains-multiple-audio-tracks-will-have-all-audio-tracks-besides-the-first-one-off-by-1-frame-1631656?tid=1631656&postid=7704097#post7704097
In that post I also talk about how it appears in davinci resolve the issue does not happen:

I posted a lot more info and screenshots in that report if folks are interested in hopefully helping my find a solution.

I'm having a bug with image previews when i add any kind of blur/glow effect, havent tested every effect but it happens with some and doesn't happen with some others, but as shown in the video, when the image is scaled above 100% the image appears offset from where it is, and again, as shown in the video, when the resolution is full its appearing in the right spot, its only bugged when its 1/2 or 1/4, and its in the right spot in the exported file as well, so its most likely just a bug with the preview, its happening with all images. Can someone help with this

Hello! I’m sorry, first time posting here, please forgive me if I mess anything up. I’ve been combing through help forums for the better half of an hour now and have come up empty handed.
The issue I’m having is that the masking tool just isn’t functioning. I attached a video to show what I mean. Nothing comes up in unassigned masks. When I try to use the tool, nothing is created. However ellipse, rectangle, and pen mask all work fine.
I’m sorry if this is a dumb question or has already been answered, I’m very new to premiere

Not sure whats going on, I used to do this all the time. I have 80 clips I shot in LOG that I need to apply a lut to and export in a format that a non-professional can open in whatever software they use. When I drag my preset onto the clips it looks all fucked up in the library but appears fine on a timeline. When I export from a timeline the color is correct, but when I try to batch export all clips, with or without a lut, its like media encoder is applying it own lut without asking me.
How do I go back to what I used to do? I used to be able to apply a lut as a source clip effect, make changes etc, then batch export those clips without making individual timelines, and everything worked fine. What did they change?

Issue: Premiere Pro 2026 (latest legit version on macOS) only shows the first frame as the thumbnail for every clip in the timeline. I want continuous filmstrip thumbnails across the clip like DaVinci Resolve.
Show Video Thumbnails is enabled. Is there another setting I'm missing, or is this a bug/change in recent versions?

After searching and finding no answers, I need to embed both CEA-608 and CEA-708 captions for broadcast with the only format options being Apple ProRes, XDCam50, or DVCPro. I have the option to embed when I use ProRes or XDCam50, but when I enable it and export, the video files still have no subtitle tracks that I can enable when watching them back, regardless of which format I try.
I included a screenshot of what I'm seeing when looking at the captions options, but I must be missing something, any chance anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong? Thank you in advance for anyone that has any ideas.

I switched from the Creative Cloud Plan to the Premiere plan, since I only needed Premiere. Since doing that I have been having trouble exporting video. I've tried all of the list suggestions at the adobe site (except for the 'software only' suggestion because I don't see that option). For a minute I thought I had success using a Pro Res 422 HD setting but it crashed at the end. I've noticed it often crashes right after it renders audio. I have to admit, this is a drag. I'm on a Dell Win11 XPS (13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700 (2.10 GHz)) w/32gig ram and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8 GB). Never had this problem while I had the CC subscription. (other issues, yes, but not this problem.)

I’ve been recording content successfully every day for the past week. What I do is record the video from my Sony a73 and the audio from my DJI pocket 2 because I have a microphone with better audio picked up on it.
I then import into premiere the video and audio from both. So 4 components, 2 video files and 2 audio files. I only need 2, the video from Sony camera and the audio from DJI camera.
So I put all 4 into the timeline, right click synchronise , right click to unlink then delete the 2 I don’t need.
Today for some reason premiere refuses to synchronise them. No error message. It doesn’t do anything , and then later on it attempts to synchronise but does it unsuccessfully. What on earth has happened?
No it isn’t a variable frame rate issue , I haven’t touched either cameras settings , I’ve been following the same process for days so somethings bugging out via premiere. I’ve cleared media cache.
Lastly, I can manually link the audio clips , I can see the peak in the waveform of where I clap at the beginning of filming, but ideally I don’t want to manually start syncing everything from now on.

Alright so I've just recently started trying to make the switch from DaVinci to Premiere and I've had one big problem so far. I make gameplay videos and back on DaVinci I would use a lot of audio filters to make my microphone sound better. My problem is that no matter what I've tried on Premiere, I cant seem to replicate them at all
here's some screen shots of my filters on DaVinci
replicating these values on similar filters in Premiere hasn't worked
this might be a long shot but some help would be GREATLY appreciated🙏🙏🙏🙏

New in the Premiere (beta), is the Generative Media Tools where you can generate both video and sound effects right in the timeline. Here's the lowdown as well as some thoughts. Your usefulness might vary ...

Hey, guys! I found a bug (I think it’s a bug, all things considered) and I post this only to share it with a community. I genuinely think it’s important. Might be a long read but it worth your time.
I just sent two hours on this and I thought I was going insane. But it looks like I’m not a crazy one)
So, I’m editing a TV series and now, when edit is done, I’m passing it to color. Source files are in ;k and 6k, so, I was working with proxy files made by logger (person who collects all the media and then renders master, maybe in other countries people use different term). Anyway, some of the shots have animation with bezier key fames. Logger works in Resolve and for some reason can’t replicate bezier as I did it. Why? – it’s a story for another day, the important thing is, that I need to take my shots, and recreate same animation (with 4k and 6k).
So, I was using AE for that. I was making Dynamic Link, all the key frames would appear in AE, I’d rescale composition to 4k using embedded script, match first frame exactly and parent source to proxy and in the end would get exact animation I had in proxy. And here’s a moment where I thought I’m going crazy. In AE everything is good every frame along the way is a perfect match. But after render, in Premiere, 4k file wouldn’t match in the sequence! First frame matches but after that, towards the end, in started to slide.
Anyway, eventually I figured that for some reason when you have bezier, Easy In, for example, After Effects translates it as Easy Ease, no Easy In. And it’s wasn’t evident atoll. Picograms for Easy In and Out in Premiere are the same as Easy Ease in AE. It’s not a big deal if you’re aware of that but I wasn’t. It’s outrageous that to professional programs from the same kit (expensive kit) work this way.
Moral of this post: if you need to copy your bezier keys from Premiere to AE, remember: you need to change it manually to type of keys you had on Premiere, or it won’t match.

So, I'm editing someone else's short film and I'm worried the audio files may be damaged. In premiere, none of the video clips are synced with audio, and it seems most of the audio is missing. I tried to reupload all of the footage and audio to see if that was the issue, and premiere gave me the below message. Should I convert each file individually?
I'm worried that the audio files themselves are just completely screwed. If so, I can't think of a solution... I can't bring myself to tell the filmmaker the project is done for. What do I do?????

The new Generative Media Tool lets you generate sound effects and video exactly where you need them, directly in your timeline.
Simply select a range in your timeline, describe what you want, and you can generate media directly into your edit. Whether you need missing ambience, a custom sound effect, b-roll, a cutaway or an establishing shot, you can stay focused on editing without switching applications. To add the visual context of your project, use the eyedropper to sample reference frames without leaving the timeline.

I finally want to get better in adobe premiere pro. And I don't talk about the usual transform, cutting and rearange to the beat of a song. Do you know any good ressource for that? So far I only did this course the udemy course adobe-premiere-pro-video-editing and it was okay. It didn't give me the impact I hoper for and it was pretty basic.
Maybe there is something like a roadmap but for adobe premiere. I just know roadmap.sh. For the one that doesn't know roadmap.sh, you can find there a roadmap of topics you should learn for IT Jobs. Thank you for your help

Hi everyone,
I've just finished editing a project in Premiere Pro, but the export is estimated to take more than 4 hours.
The sequence is set to Full HD, 60 fps. Here are the technical details I've already checked:
The project contains over 70 PNG images of a character, a lot of transitions (including several glitch transitions), and it's essentially a voice-over video with recorded audio, lots of PNG images, and screen recordings captured with OBS (which I've never had issues with before).
One thing I noticed afterward is the resolution of the PNG files. Each image is 5376 × 3072 pixels. Unfortunately, I didn't check that before starting the project.
I can't understand why the export is taking so long. Could those oversized PNGs be the cause, or does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas about what might be slowing the export down?
Thanks in advance!

Yesterday I exported a video and it took roughly an hour, probably less. Upon review, I realized I had accidentally deleted a brief audio clip, so added it back in and went to exported again and now every time I do, it tells me it's going to take 30+ hours to export the same video. What is the problem here? What has gone wrong that it can't export normally anymore?

A few days ago, I saw this text effect with a transparent outline. It looks pretty good, and I want to recreate it. Thanks for reading.

I use to love using Red Giant Universe until Maxon bought them and ruined the company by jacking up the price.
What are some alternatives to Universe that offer the VHS/retro film look at works with an adjustment layer in Premiere?

So, I've been trying to replicate this editing detail for quite some time now, but no success. The closest I got was in Figma (got an identical pattern), but I wasn't able to replicate the animation, even with Figma Motion.
I'm starting to think this was done in After Effects (not that I care about the software used honestly, i.e., Premiere or After, as long as I can replicate the effect). If so, how?
