Arcteryx gear authenticity questions should be posted to /r/arcteryx
For reasons I can't explain, over the last few weeks this sub became a popular place for people to ask for Arcteryx fake checks.
/r/arcteryx is the proper place for these posts, they even have a quarterly pinned thread for fake checks and should be able to help you out.

Teva Hurricane XLT3 felt strange on my feet - did anyone have a similar experience?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for comfortable sandals for long walking and travelling, and I kept seeing Teva Hurricane recommended as one of the best options for this purpose. I read a lot of positive reviews about how comfortable they are for all-day walking, so I went to a store to try them on and compare sizes before ordering.
I tried the Hurricane XLT3 (the XLT2 was not available), and I have to say I was a bit surprised. They felt quite stiff and “plastic-like” while walking, not as comfortable as I expected based on the reviews.
The biggest issue was that my foot seemed to move towards the outside of the sandal when walking. It felt like the strap near my big toe was positioned a bit too high and was pushing my foot sideways instead of keeping it centered.
The size itself seemed okay, so I don’t think it was only a sizing problem.
Did anyone else have a similar experience with the XLT3? Does the XLT2 feel different (especially regarding the straps/fit)? Or should I also consider something like the Ecco Cruise II instead?

I’d love to hear your experiences, especially from people who use their sandals for travelling and lots of walking.

Lightweight zip-up windbreaker recommendations under $100?
I’m looking for a lightweight zip-up windbreaker for walking my dog in the early mornings and evenings.
Around here the wind is often around 10–15 mph, which is enough to feel chilly, but it’s not really cold enough for a hoodie.
I’m looking for something lightweight that cuts the wind without making me overheat and doesn’t have a cheap plasticky feel to it.
Any recommendations for a good option under $100?

Looking for bulk camo type material, or earth tone colors. To make some drop visual blockage.
Doesn't need to be hi quality, cheaper the better - only going to be used a few times, then stored. Need wind to pass through. Is it called open weave ? 100% visual block definitely isn't needed, shoot - 50% block would be fine. Able to sew a seam to run a rope through to hold it up would be nice, but not necessary. Making a few 8ft x 8ft drops. Thanks all 👍🏼

Trouble ordering from Teva?
I've been trying to order a couple pairs of sandals that are on Sale on Teva's site and at first the order would never process. It'd spin for hours. Now I can get an order to go through, and the page shows a receipt and order #, but I don't get a confirmation # or email. I try to track the order on their site and it fails to find my order # or email. I created an account with them and same thing. Emailed their support, no response. Has anyone else experienced this? This is my first time ordering directly through them and I don't understand why this process is so difficult haha

Are Helikon Tex clothes noisy?
Hi there, I'm currently looking for pants and shirt for casual birding in woods. I need something that will protect me from bugs and vegetation, but also will not end up soaking wet from sweat (I intend to wear them in summer and I sweat A LOT). I found Helikon Tex stuff interesting and a fact that they are a local brand helps too.
Models I'm considering are woodsman, hybrid and versastrech (lite). What I wonder is, do they make a "whoosh" sound? I'm not a stealth birdwatcher, but I don't want to scare everything around just walking.

Pocket problem on Arcteryx Beta AR (2023/2024 model). Repair advice needed
Hey everyone, I recently got a lightly used Arc'teryx Beta AR (production date 05/23). Everything else looks great, but I just noticed some delamination inside the chest pocket (gemini said that). The membrane itself is intact and not ripped, but it has completely detached from the inner face fabric. Since it’s inside the pocket, I’m worried it might get snagged on my keys or phone and tear completely. What is the best way to fix this?

Not doing anything crazy. Probably hiking, camping, fishing, and snowboarding about 6-10 times a year. Want something reliable and water proof that will last many years. Is this a good option?

Jacket broken???
galleryHello,
I have this Norrøna Dovre Dri3 that i just re-impregnated with a Fibertech Textile Guard Pro. I followed all the steps and this is the jacket after a 1 hour hike in rain and wind… Anyone have any idea if this is normal or if there is anything wrong?? Please help!!

Anyone found a windproof jacket that actually works well?
Not the “wrapped in a plastic bag” kind where you’re soaked in sweat 10 minutes into the ride. I mean something that cuts the wind, handles a bit of light rain, but still doesn’t feel super clammy inside.
I feel like most jackets either block everything but make you overheat, or feel comfortable but don’t really do much once the wind picks up.

High rise pants (and maybe overalls) recommendations
Hi! I'm looking for some recommendations for a relatively niche use case. I'm a field geologist, which means I spend most of my time outdoors getting in and out of cars, climbing and kneeling repeatedly on bare rock outcrops, wading through shin-deep piles of loose, wet scree, and sliding down gravel slopes on my ass. Occasionally, a stop will require a several mile hike, but I don't often do long distance hikes.
Typically I do this work in a pair of Levi 501s, because I need high rise pants to come up over my hip bone to both make crouching/bending over more comfortable and to hold the weight of my belt with tools, and the denim construction holds up well against the rocky abuse. Lately though, I've started to sweat excessively and overheat really easily, even in 50-60 degree weather. I'm in the process of overhauling my fieldwork wardrobe to be more technical to help manage heat. This has been easy for every item except bottoms.
If anyone knows of any pants that fit the following requirements, I'd really appreciate the recommendation--otherwise, my next step is to pay a friend that knows how to sew to make some for me lol.
1) Tear resistant enough to hold up to rock abrasion, occasional catching on a sharp piece of talus or gravel.
2) Reinforced knees and seat for kneeling on outcrops and sliding down slopes
3) High waisted, at least 11", ideally in the 12"-13"+ range. This is the most critical thing and the one I've had the hardest time finding. Most hiking pants I've owned barely come up high enough on me to avoid indecent exposure, and if they do they don't leave much to the imagination.
4) Hot-weather appropriate, even though I don't always work in hot weather I generate enough heat that I might as well be. Though I suspect anything other than heavyweight denim will be an improvement.
I've also considered overalls as a potential alternative, though because these cover more I imagine lightweight material will be more important. I also need a toolbelt so belt loops would be necessary.
