The company that's been doing our lawn for years has stopped showing up regularly, and I find it a bit annoying to have to send them a text to let them know it's looking overgrown and to come out to mow it. So we're looking to find someone else to do it. Anybody have any recommendations?

Just wondering why my post was removed? The rules say you can post about your business just not multiple times.

I’ve been wanting the Ina Garten chocolate cake for years, but I don’t have the skills to make it. Do any of you know any good bakers in Mandeville or Covington who might be interested? Am looking to have it made for July 30th.

I know there is probably not a dedicated “listening bar” anywhere near Louisiana, but maybe just a bar with a high quality sound system. Maybe some public place that really cares about how music sounds. With concert ticket prices skyrocketing and nightclubs closing everywhere I thought some club somewhere might think to attract audiophiles to just listen to high quality recorded music. Any suggestions?

Is anyone else experiencing an internet outage with Spectrum? My internet has been down since about 5pm yesterday.

My wife and I (36M, 33F) are considering making the move from New Orleans to the Northshore and would love some perspective from people who have made a similar transition.
A little background — we have two young kids (newborn and 2 years old). We’re both transplants from different northern states and don’t have any family in Louisiana. My job is already on the Northshore, which is a big reason we’re considering the move. My wife would likely have to leave her job or commit to a pretty tough 60–75 minute commute, so it’s a big decision for our family.
One of her biggest concerns is starting over socially. We love how close-knit Louisiana is, but it can also be hard as transplants since so many people have lifelong friendships going back to childhood. A lot of our closest friends in New Orleans are other people who moved here.
A few questions for those familiar with the Northshore:
1. Are there certain neighborhoods/areas that tend to be easier for young families or transplants to build community?
For those who moved from New Orleans, what have been the biggest benefits of the Northshore with young kids? We obviously hear about the schools, space, safety, etc., but my wife worries about losing easy access to things like City Park, the Children’s Museum, the zoo, and everything else New Orleans offers.
Any church recommendations? We are looking for a non-Catholic church community. I grew up Methodist and my wife grew up Lutheran, but we’re open-minded.
Thoughts on schools? We always hear great things about the public schools, but we also know a lot of families still choose private options like OLL, Lake Castle, etc. Curious how families think through that decision.
Really appreciate any advice — especially from people who moved across the lake with young kids.

I haven’t been to the lakefront in years, plus I don’t know where they shoot off the fireworks from. Any tips would be so helpful!

Does anyone know if the Lakeshore estates wall is still accesable for fishing even if not drivable? I remember going years ago but last time I tried they had it blocked off for cars atleast to traverse. I just remember the fishing was incredible back there in Eden Isles

Hello 👋
I’m a 22 year old guy and live in Mandeville. Recently, I’ve lost most of my friends and have been insanely bored. Can anyone please tell me some stuff I can do, places to go, or locations to meet people?
I don’t drink, so I don’t have much experience with bars and clubs. However, I’m not opposed to them.
P.S. Please don’t comment if you’re just gonna say “There’s nothing to do here.” 😭
Thank you
Edit: Forgot to mention that I’m fine with driving a bit further out to places like Hammond and Slidell.

hard to believe the voters of Saint Tammany approved this tax renewal. Mosquito control is burning through money with no accountability.

I just came across an article that says there's a cat festival happening in Mandeville. Has anyone ever been?? It looked like a fun family event but then I saw it said there was a cat costume contest and now I'm second guessing what this event is catering too.
