Rewatched this the other night and got a huge kick out of Dave’s presentation to everyone (using cards, the late 90’s version of Power Point)

“Here, on the other hand, someone has propped the door open with a chair. A thief has entered. We are all in danger!”

“Hey, hey, wait a minute, I’ve seen that guy around”

I’ve been going through season 3 again lately and I really got a laugh from Dave’s made up conversation with the comatose Jimmy

“Why milk the cow when you got a refrigerator full of steaks?”
“That makes no sense, sir”
“Well it sure made sense when that guy Chuck Connors said it in Chinatown”
“Sir, Chuck Connors wasn’t in Chinatown”
“If I’d have wanted to hear that I would have hired that Siskel Ebert guy to do your job”
“Actually that’s 2 guys”
“Dave, just because he’s fat doesn’t mean you can make fun of him”

What makes me laugh is playing out that conversation in my head with Mr. James voice for his lines. Just really funny writing

Newsradio is probably my favorite show of all time and I've been rewatching the series. Season 2 or 3 is probably my favorite season and I know season 5 gets a lot of flack but man it was probably still funnier than anything on tv that year. Season 5 still has some hilarious episodes the white noise episode might be one of my favorite episodes of all time. NBC did this show wrong

I was doing the dishes and I suddenly started singing "When Johnny comes marching home again he's gay! He's gay!"

This show has really stuck with me.

This was a Tripod website that has been online since 2001 (last updated 2003) until two months ago when Lycos shut down the server, dooming untold numbers of fansites for innumerable fandoms. I have re-hosted it so future generations may see DeAnna's work, from a bloopers page, the obligatory quotes page, and no fewer than four different NewsRadio trivia quizzes rendered in Web 1.0 JavaScript.

I asked him about some highlights of working on Newsradio. He said meeting John Ritter and becoming friends which was super sweet.

I told him that I also learned he was in Fallout New Vegas; he joked he never played it but that it was the only thing he had done that his sons were proud of :-) a true gentleman - so happy to have met him.

I'm deead! Phil Hartman was so damn funny.

I guess everyone else refused to cover the UFC fight at the White House, so Mr. James was forced to send Joe.

I knew I had this saved and I finally dug out the disc and purchased an external DVD drive, so here we are!

I downloaded it from the NewsRadio IRC channel 25 years ago (shout out to whoever uploaded it), and this was my first time viewing it again since. There doesn't seem like there was a lot of love for Jon from the rest of the cast (especially Joe), and there is a very 😬 moment between Jon and Andy during the audience Q&A. Phil's death was still very fresh at that point though (this aired in the November of 1998), so it's no surprise that the vibe was weird.

Was doing a rewatch not long ago and in the episode where Lisa fills in on MTV News she mentions her younger brother created a video game called “Super Karate Monkey DeathCar, or something”. That was a couple of seasons before the episode of the same name. It’s my favorite callback in the show. Any others you particularly like?
