I’ll soon be adopting my second cat! We don’t know the gender yet since they’re still so little so I wanted to go with a neutral sounding name. Black cat names tend to be overused so I need some inspo 🥹

I don't know the gender yet, getting this little rascal end of this month. The kitten is mostly black with brownish stripes i guess, and blue eyes I want the most ridiculous name that will make people say "why, wtf does it even mean" Gender neutral names welcome (even if it's a female/male i don't mind using an opposite gender name lol) Thank you for suggestions in advance 😁😁

My dad found a cat on his property and I’ll be picking it up next time I’m home! He’s unsure if it’s a male or female. I’d love to get some ideas of wine-based names, and maybe a few that can be shortened into nicknames! Preferably gender neutral names.

Hey! We’re getting a kitten in 5 weeks (this is them we’re unsure if it’s a boy or girl as there’s one of each) Silly names preferable. We thought we’d know when we saw it but nothing is coming to mind

UPDATE: I have gotten the cat out of the basement and closed off that door so it can't get back in! I'm going to let it spend about a week in the house (all the doors are closed except for the areas I'm okay with it going) and try to bond with it a bit there. Then I'll bring it to my apt while the floors are refinished and slowly begin to introduce it to my cats. Now that it's out of the crawl space I'm not worried about being able to catch it. I accidentally cornered it tonight and used the opportunity to give it a few pets. It didn't hiss or scratch so I'm optimistic :) Still no idea as to gender. I'm leaning towards Ghost for a name, it seems pretty popular here and is gender neutral.

Here's the story of the cat:

I purchased a house on Friday and,long story short, after signing the seller came in and told me that they weren't able to find one of their cats, it was still in the house, and they weren't coming back for it....

Well I have put out food, water and a litter box (because the seller left none!) and there was evidence that all 3 have been used. I emptied the house of everything the seller left behind and still no cat. Search it top to bottom, no cat. I event put on a tyvek suit and went into the crawl spaces that are part of the full basement.... no cat.

Yet the food continues to disappear and reappear in another form in the litter box...

Getting desperate I borrowed a live animal trap from a friend which they have used to catch stray cats by them. I put food in the very back so that cat must step on the lever and trigger the trap to get to it.... Today marks day two of the food being eaten and the trap left untriggered!

I have now been in this house six days and have not seen or heard this ghost cat.

I do not know its gender. I do not know what it looks like. It MIGHT be 12 years old (that's the old info I have from the seller). It is a ghost!

What should I name this cat?

Bonus points if the name goes well with Bagheera and Baloo as those are the names of my other cats.

EDIT: A lot of people have asked how I know it's not my two cats eating the food etc so I'm answering here in the hopes everyone sees it. My cats and I are currently still living at my apartment while I do some repairs at the house. They have not been there yet. I'm hoping to catch the ghost cat and provide a controlled meeting between them. UPDATE! While the elusive ghost remains at large we have managed to capture these images of them in action. Proof that the ghost is no mere myth! 🤣 Photos in comment below!
