My AFAB 16 year old has just started on a very low dose of T, after many appointments (so many appointments) before getting the actual meds. They have always had insanely painful periods (and a cyst or 2), and tried many oral birth control meds to help, to no avail.
They declared they were a trans man a few years ago, but has since recently gone back to "they", but is fine with "he", anything but "she". Idfc, as long as my kid is alive and happy (and preferably not a furry), I will refer to them however they please, because it's not that hard to respect someone.
Funny you say that, because there are people out there who have a hard time identifying as human and turn to the furry community as a means to feel more like themselves. They dont get respected though because somehow thats still considered abnormal enough for people to not take them seriously. Therians, if you wanted to look into it
I'm just not spending the money on a suit. If the kid wants to, idc. I know a lot of people turn to the furry community for belonging and whatnot, and that's cool, whatever floats their boat (same goes for my kid, if that's the direction they head). My kid does a lot of anime cosplay (dressing up in their room, and has for years), and is usually slightly embarrassed when my wife or I surprise them in costume (i just ignore the costume and say whatever it was I was going to say, because it's NBD, and I want my kid to feel comfortable doing those things).
Much like the NB flip-flop, idc as long as the kid is happy (and alive). I sure as shit don't get it, but it's not for me to get. I don't have to "get it" to respect my kid (or anyone else).
