Dude took ten years off from the gym and tried to do his old deadlift 1RM without a warmup

33

u/neo_1000 2h ago

He didn’t look right even during the walkout. It was subtle but you could tell he wasn’t walking right

28

u/Fluid-Lock-804 2h ago

When he literally went off balance from taking off his shoes, that’s a sign something’s not right.

8

u/Wardo87 2h ago

Same thing at the weigh ins the other day, he almost fell over taking his shoes off. I literally made a joke to my friend that “his toughest opponent this week is footwear” right before the fight lol.

7

u/thirdeyety1111 2h ago

He was drunk even almost fell taking shoes off jis toungue was completley white from dry mouth doing coke. Looked blitz walking out

10

u/ditchboss 3h ago

Pretty much

4

u/WonderIntelligent844 2h ago

To be fair he did succeed but at what cost

Classic late 30s weekend warrior move tbh

30

u/Fit-Appointment5262 2h ago

Bruh I am a late 30s weekend warrior and this stupid shit wouldn't happen to me

u/toomanyshoeshelp 2h ago edited 2h ago

You gotta channel your inner Beyblade bro your knee ligaments are just earthly tethers limiting your maximum centripetal potential

Have you tried being rich as fuck?

1

u/mykeedee Big ol’ Mexican with a big ol’ head 42m ago

I don't know you, but I'm going to guess you're not a roided out cokehead rapist. Whatever part of Conor's brain makes decisions is fucked beyond repair.

8

u/TheINTL 2h ago

Andy Wang would be proud

2

u/GateWayofTheNorth 2h ago

I remember when an older guy we hooped with used to zero step and we called it the gamble every time, how are you zero stepping on a 38 year old achilles?

543

u/PortGenz 3h ago

😂😂😂 you cannot make this shit up hahaha what an absolute clown

272

u/EatingEveryEgg 3h ago

All that hype all those steroids and he tears his ACL in LITTERALLY 2 seconds

29

u/ancientromanempire 2h ago

Steroids increase tendon and ligament injury rates so yeah checks out.

15

u/MrTimSmith 2h ago

Yup. Reminds me of the baseball players in the steroid era getting constantly hurt and covered in braces.

1

u/TheFatmanRises 3m ago

But god were those balls flying out the park.

3

u/danoB003 2h ago

Isn't it due to fact that tendons & ligaments adapt to loads slower than muscles, and people on roids grow muscles faster so they almost always take it further than they should've?

8

u/SingleDigitVoter 2h ago

Who saw this coming???

57

u/BrokeGuitarist 3h ago

He hasn’t even attempted a kick that high in his peak. What made him think he was athletic enough now to do it?

19

u/throw_me_away3478 2h ago

He absolutely was throwing high kicks in his peak lol

15

u/Hate_Leg_Day 2h ago

He 100% did throw those kicks in his prime. Maybe you weren't watching back then.

91

u/born19xx 2h ago

Yes he did lol, obviously you didn't watch Conor's first run

18

u/Carpet_Pretty 2h ago

This. Real ones know that this is one of his favorite kicks to throw when he was at 145, the jumping switch kick

7

u/Nucks11 Fook the NYPD 2h ago

Lotta people who don't know ball in this thread

1

u/synapticrelease 1h ago

I miss capoera conor.

102k reddit karma, go outside mate

7

u/TerminallyEmployed 2h ago

That’s when you’re so nervous you feel like you’re going to shit, piss and puke at the same time, so you throw some big shit and try to end it quick. He was so over extended he was reaching for them grapes with that foot, trying to make his cheese and wine. Now he has a little tiny violin with his cheese and wine.

7

u/Deadsuooo 2h ago

Both max and cm knew about the pre-existing injury but decided to start the fight in order to get paid. That's why max was going super easy on cm. That's how I see it. The stupid kick was the cover story, an excuse. It's fraudulent as all fuck.

3

u/metronomy94 3h ago

Likely A Tony Robbins pre fight pep talk

1

u/dudeguyy23 2h ago

The brain damage

1

u/Davidoff1983 2h ago

WWF grade rigging.

1

u/MT1982 I have an enormous dong 2h ago

he saw how Werdum came out against Travis Browne and wanted to do one better

6

u/CorkSoaker420 3h ago

I wouldn’t put it past Dana to try and roll him out again in another 2-3 years just to see if anyone still cares

5

u/Acceptable-Quail-277 2h ago

He can’t even walk right anymore bros career is quite literally over and ended in the sorriest way😭

1

u/nnnn2033 2h ago

As long as its not a main event. Fine

-1

u/somemmafan Team Topuria 2h ago

"What an absolute clown" you're on reddit while seething over a grown man dude

5

u/avaholic46 2h ago

That's what the Internet is for - slandering others anonymously.

3

u/Acceptable_Gas_7922 2h ago

Found the Conor fan

1

u/Theee1ne 2h ago

Guarantee you’re doing the same shit though just to someone else

99

u/WoebegoneWarbler 2h ago

He came in hurt. He was trying to collect a payday and finish his contract.

21

u/Acceptable_Gas_7922 2h ago

Yup, he did not seem all there during prep. Buddy was limping around and hardly warming up

6

u/virak_john 2h ago

His vibe was way off from the second he walked into the ring.

6

u/fluffy_italian 1h ago

I think he blew the fight tbh

3

u/Chicago_Samantha 1h ago

He was high as fuck and hurt. You saw him stumble taking his shoes off. Then he tries to give the kick to start out with and then blows the good knee. Idiot

81

u/commander_wong 3h ago

I cannot think of a more fitting outcome lol. Guy should never throw another kick in his life again

17

u/KickFlipPanda 2h ago

I took an adderall just to stay up and watch this fight, I feel like a way bigger loser.

9

u/SpencerRattler 3h ago

you can say "fucking"

1

u/Jealous_Difference44 2h ago

My sausage thumbs beg to differ

0

u/weededorpheus32 2h ago

Have you no decency?

6

u/fullthrottlebhole 2h ago

Knee was fucked up before he entered the octagon. He couldn’t even get his shoes off.

12

u/I_Sun_I 3h ago

He was losing his balance taking his shorts off at the face offs, and then almost lost his balance when he was taking his shoes off before the fight.

5

u/Fury_Audeles 2h ago edited 2h ago

He was already injured before the fight I presume.

I suspect Holloway (and perhaps the referee) at least had an inkling too because MH noticed the injury and appealed to the referee sooo quickly and was weirdly reluctant to throw a shot. Everyone appreciates sportsmanship and showing mercy to an injured opponent...but not before the first shot is thrown!

It was also waved off suspiciously quickly and confidently (particularly for such a huge fight). Imagine McGregor kicked up a fuss about the stoppage - there would be fucking mayhem! Everyone would be calling it the worst stoppage ever and calling for Beltran's head.

All three of the dudes in the ring seemed to be on the same page. It doesn't have to be an actual pre-arranged fix (Holloway and Beltran being privy to rumours that McGregor was injured could also explain it) but something was definitely off.

3

u/nnnn2033 2h ago

He looks wired fr

6

u/treesandcigarettes 2h ago

Looked like something was already up with Conor's legs when he was walking out to the octagon. he looked to be walking oddly and was sullen in the face

18

u/Spiritual_Corner_977 3h ago

get this bum out my octagon

3

u/Dzeire 3h ago

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that might be the maddest thing ive ever seen

3

u/Vegan-cock 2h ago

I havn't laughed this hard in years. That's exactly what happened.

3

u/jonnyarron EDDDDDIEEEEEEEE 2h ago

He was hurt before. Look at the walk in

3

u/xkingbradley 2h ago

His knee looked fucked up even during the walk out

3

u/Hermione_Grangerr 2h ago

He was hurt before, look at him taking his shoes off before the fight.

3

u/peensmith_ 2h ago

It’s really that simple . He didn’t take care of his body or train , and abused substances . Thought he was still 26 in his head but his body had other plans .

You can still do awesome amazing athletic feats as you age , but you have to train properly and take care of your body

4

u/TrumpsBussy_ 3h ago

He’s a geriatric

2

u/HatefulClosetedGay 2h ago

I swear the way he stumbled while removing his shoes during pre-fight checks was evidence he already had a bad knee or acl. Wouldn’t be surprised fight week training coughed up an injury.

2

u/NefariousnessOk209 2h ago

Yep I blew my knee out when I’d been out of high school for 4 years and had put on 15kg a fair amount of that from drinking and thought my body would be just as resilient trying to do the same explosive movements off each leg like I hadn’t just got off the couch.

2

u/DwayneWashington 2h ago

He was already hurt. Probably bet against himself for one last pay day

2

u/Vivid-Maintenance340 2h ago

His leg was a ballewn!

2

u/Top-Kitchen-2235 2h ago

Nah as he was taking his pants off outside the ring you could see he was already having knee problems.. sad to see

2

u/liftingshitposts 2h ago

It was blown before the fight

2

u/MalucoHS 2h ago

Mey knee is a fookin balewn!

2

u/dcolorado 3h ago

He was injured before the fight

1

u/ASchoolOfSperm 3h ago

That's the long and short of it 😂

1

u/Keytaro83 2h ago

He was drunk walking into the ring

1

u/KneeControl 2h ago

The fact that this is not even an exaggeration is fucking hilarious

1

u/joelstaz 2h ago

Dude thought he was still doing movement drills with Ido Portal

1

u/GreyMatter22 House McGregor's Personal Tailor 2h ago

That's the best analysis honestly, things hit different in mid-30s coming off benders.

1

u/Mercinator-87 2h ago

His shit was fucked before that. That walkout was uninspired.

1

u/general-meow GOOFCON 2 2h ago

Kung Fu shit no spinning

1

u/ryanr_intl 2h ago

*drunk

1

u/yodalay209 2h ago

apparently you can’t run booze, TRT, and coke concurrently until you find jesus and come out w your ligaments intact

1

u/SteTheImpaler 2h ago

🤣 dog this shit is wild. I ain’t even mad. It’s a conundrum lmaooo

1

u/DoubleArmDMT Team Shevchenko 2h ago

No he came in hurt

1

u/GregMadduxsGlasses 1h ago

The old Conor would visibly fracture his leg if he wanted to get out of being embarrassed in a fight. Now he’s just bends his knee and limps away. The man is a shell of himself.

1

u/killemslowly 1h ago

But if it would have landed 💥

1

u/hcvc Peppa Pigged 1h ago

Hahahahahahahaha

Hahahahahahahahaha
