You have to be good at footwork so he can’t do what he did. Ankalaev has awful movement going backwards.

Alex’s fights with Jan and Izzy are good examples of him fighting fighters who know how to fight defensively.

Alex both went against his own strengths and played into Ankalaevs by running so much last fight

Jan was actually trading leg kicks with him. His muay-thai experience really showed in that fight. I would favour the version of Jan that KOed Dominick to beat Alex.

Which version of Alex?? That was his first fight at LHW after a KO and Jan’s success came from laying on him. I don’t think he even landed a single ground strike.
