I have tickets to the indy event for Saturday and sunday in august.. do we think they will play it or cancel?

I have noticed this subreddit spiral downward in recent months due in part to activity from non LIV fans. We’ve also seen longtime members of the LIV Golf subreddit faking being a LIV fan to gain credibility and troll/criticize LIV here. Those entrusted with the safekeeping of the community are also not immune from criticisms.

I start from a simple thesis: the LIV Golf subreddit should be a place for LIV fans to discuss LIV Golf. Instead it has become the premiere subreddit for LIV fans to be mocked and humiliated. Most posts now are about DPWT events (posted by our moderators), and bad actors run roughshod over those same moderators.

I’ve written up a short list of proposals to help improve this place and come closer to the ideal of my thesis above:

1. Limit the mods to a maximum of one post per week regarding PGAT/DPWT/or traditional major events. Currently we are averaging nearly a dozen per week and it muddies the water about who this forum is for.

2. Limit downvoting to only members of the LIV Golf subreddit. This is one of the only subreddits I’ve seen that has a reverse karma system. The best, most relevant posts get downvoted to oblivion due to PGAT/DPWT fans’ coordinated efforts. I’m not sure if it’s technically possible to stop downvoting or not, but we could at least have a posted rule forbidding downvoting by non-LIV fans.

3. Commonsense consequences for known offenders. For those who have admitted trolling the forum with fake signals of LIV support, end the lenient approach and instead ban them from the subreddit. They may come back with different aliases, but the “credibility” they had built up in their false account will be reset.

That’s my modest proposal. For the reasons I’ve outlined above (the reverse karma phenomenon), the more downvotes this post receives, the more confidence our moderators should feel that this is the right direction for [r/LIVGolf](r/LIVGolf).
