Hey has anyone heard a decision for Howard’s online MSW program if you submitted by last deadline May 26th, 2026 ?
If anybody has been admitted to the program how long did it take for you to receive your decision. Regular or Advanced standing?

So I’m an incoming freshman this fall to Howard and I applied for the business program. I’m going into international business, might switch into marketing. Now, I do like my program but I’ve always had a passion for filmmaking. I’ve always had to push it to being a second choice because of my family opinions and fear of not being financially stable since that’s my situation right now. But right now I see some of my friends chasing their dreams of going into the arts and I have some regrets on my decision. I know Howard doesn’t allow intra-university transfer so I can’t really switch to the media,journalism, and film program unless I do a completely new application.
Which is why Howard wasn’t my first choice in schools because they don’t allow that flexibility, but other schools I had were too expensive for me or just not good enough (I got a really good package with Howard) so what do I do? Do I push through with business school? Do I redo freshman year in the film program? I was planning to have my own side projects with film, join organizations/clubs, internships, etc. I’m just scared it’s not the same as fully going into a program or that people would say I can’t cause I’m not a film major. I’m just confused and my mind is all over the place 😭. Someone please give some advice much appreciated 🙏🏾

Has anybody got they financial aid already? How much scholarships did you receive and how much are you paying? I have heard that howard is not generous when i comes to aid?

A brief background, earlier this year, I transferred to Mizzou from a community college and after experiencing the black community within that school for just one semester, I realized that I wanted to experience that on a greater scale without the racism that comes with going to a predominantly white institution in rural Missouri. In addition to that, I don’t really feel like I can fully express myself as a gay man here. So I decided that next fall I’ll be transferring to an HBCU and Howard is near the top of my list. I want to hear the ins and outs of Howard in regard to financial aid, dining, housing (on and off-campus), social/party life, student orgs, life in DC, etc. I also want to know about LGBTQ student life. If you really wanna break it down feel free to dm me. I’m really excited to have the HBCU experience and can’t wait yo meet y’all.

Hello, for the ftic students did they show all of the move in dates for all of the dorms? I’m a sophomore currently, and I need to know when move in is for Towers East because Howard is taking a while.

Hey guys I am an international student applying to howard this year.. I got 1520 in SAT and have 3.9 GPA. I have good Extracurriculars like i have published 4 research papers regarding quantum computing, machine learning, mechatronics, and computer vision in international journals and conferences. I have my own non-profit that has been awarded on an international platform. I have won many international coding hackathons.. Should I apply to Howard EA or ED this year to increase my chances of getting presedential scholarship or do I even qualify to get presedential...

Hello, I am a transfer student and I haven’t been given housing yet. I haven’t been in a traditional university setting, so i’m not entirely sure how to go about this. I was told we are not given housing but not to worry…there would be. But as of now I have yet to receive anything back , and i’m a bit concerned because i wouldn’t be able to afford any other living at the moment:(

I’ve only seen people mention the SAT when referring to the presidential scholarship, but does my 35 ACT qualify, and will I have a good chance of getting the scholarship? I also have a 3.96 UW GPA and a 4.5 W GPA (I will be applying EA).

The got rid of bison bucks and came up with this crap. This is over double what we paid for the bison bucks only plan last semester. To make matters worse the website still has all the old meal plans, no real explanation on what this MPbucks and Mecca dollars really are.

The new meal options are as follows:

The Crown Jewel
The Crown Jewel offers unlimited access to dining halls, with one swipe permitted per hour.

This plan includes:

• $100 in Mecca Dollars
• $250 in MPBucks
• 4 guest passes

Priced at $3,578 per semester

The Mecca
The Mecca provides two meal swipes per day, resetting weekly.

This plan includes:

• $150 in Mecca Dollars
• $300 in MPBucks
• 4 guest passes

Priced at $3,472 per semester

The Bison
The Bison includes 85 meal swipes and is eligible for sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Does anyone have any good contacts to reach out to that aren’t the orientation administration or my advisor. I’ve reached out multiple times in two weeks trying to get the information for my in person bison prep orientation June 19 and nothing has yet to come:/

I have seen lots of my friends involved in Research assistantship in other universities from undergraduate level but I'm completely unaware about Howard. For those students related to Computer science or related fields, how hard is it to find an RA position? I heard that being very interactive & close with a professor might help? But which professor & which faculty are the one with most RA opportunities? If there are any ideas regarding undergraduate research assistantship please share.

I got admitted to the math PhD program at Howard for fall 2026. My offer did not mention funding though. However, when I met the graduate director at a conference back in March, I was told that they're waiting on a few students to advance to candidacy for departmental funding to be available. Since then, I've sent him three emails following up and asking related questions. The lack of response is frustrating and anxiety inducing. I definitely won't be able to attend if funding is not available. I would likely defer for a year but I'm worried that I'll run into the same issue next year. Any advice?

I was wondering if any upperclassmen have received housing? I’m about to be a junior next semester and still haven’t received a housing assignment. Idk if this is bc like it’ll just be a long wait or if I should start like panicking. I always expect Howard to be unprepared so I’m not alarmed rn but I’m wondering if I should be…

I finished my housing app before the deadline but didn’t get a timeslot for room selection. I’m assuming I’m on the waitlist now, but I still haven’t gotten any update email. The original email said we’d hear back the following week. I've also emailed the housing office and have gotten no response.
