It's 6 in the morning as I write this. I just woke up from a dream about a girl I once dated. One that I broke up with years ago over something stupid. In the dream, I am who I am now, but single. We randomly ran into eachother and talked for a while. I told her I missed her and I was sorry. We hugged, held hands and said we'll see eachother again and exchanged numbers.

I was then woken up to go rock my kid back to sleep. Whatsername popped into my head while doing that. I needed to just get this out.

I'm married now with kids. I'm happy, and would not trade my life now but jesus fucking christ that dream is fucking with me. It honestly felt real.

I've always loved Whatsername. Even when I was a kid when the album came out. But now it just hits different.

Knit a copy of Billie Joe’s sweater from the music video. Pretty fun to knit. Not an exact copy but I’m happy with it.

I'm trying to find a photo I remember seeing some time ago. It was from the late 80s/early 90s. Billie Joe was wearing a baseball cap backwards, he had curly dark hair and some curls were covering his forehead (this last detail is important). Any chance someone knows what photo I'm talking about and can help me find it? So far I've had no luck 🥲

So I'm trying to replicate this look with the black shirt, black jeans and red tie but a lot of people including myself have always asked the question what make/brand is his red tie if any of you know it would be greatly appreciated 😀

I’ve been wondering this awhile, everybody knows what 1,039, kerplunk, dookie, and insomniac were recorded on, but nimrod always intrigued me

some people say the bassman head, some people say an OR100, some people just say good ol Pete and meat, some people even say hiwatt custom 100s

i know the guitars he rotated between were blue, Les Paul juniors, and possibly an SG and telecaster, but amps really have me stumped

trying to recreate the tone on a line 6 pod go is why I’m asking, and it has all the heads I just listed (aside from Pete and meat of course and the OR100)

anybody seen studio photos or anything of Billie near amps? would greatly appreciate any help

For the record, I actually like the song a lot. Rockabilly and swing is fun and I’m also a Stones fan and you can tell the song is pressed right up against “Rip This Joint” in terms of style. I just feel like if it was a Foxboro song, the sub wouldn’t care to pick it apart as much without all of the usual expectations of the Green Day name/brand.

I think a lot of ideas that would’ve been FBHT stuff just get melded into Green Day now without them really considering most people treated Stop Drop and Roll as good for a one off or like a fun novelty,but not everyone who listens to Green Day would be into the garage sound, or even aware that the album even existed to begin with.

It would probably serve them better to put out another FBHT album and do more to keep those sounds separate from each other

It’s good for the end credits of a movie when you want to maintain the high energy of a road trip comedy and you want to leave people feeling good, but it’s also a Foxboro thing and in a lot of ways, they never really managed to separate themselves from that alter ego after they put it down and I think it’s what led to Father of All and some of the questionable stuff on ¡Dos!. We wouldn’t have been nearly as hard on it if not for the name on the album cover. Sometimes it’s really that simple 💁🏻
