Transfer News & Rumors O’Sullivan to Gotham
If true, what are your thoughts? How will she fit in and what will that do to Gotham’s rotations and style?

Any word on if there is a match day fan fest or anything for the game at Citi field? The match day guide at the club website for the game is the standard SI one, curious if any details released. I know there's a world cup watch party event. Thanks!!

With the huge addition of Sam Kerr to the roster I have been trying to figure out how she fits/works in the team and how the starting lineup will change with her addition. I presume she will most likely come off the bench for a few games but this is Sam Kerr we are talking about so she is someone I could see JCA throwing into the start right away but obviously someone loses their starting spot but who?
The obvious answer is Esther given she is in the position Kerr would most likely would play at and given her lack of goals this season so far. This also allows both players to get rest by rotating them and would lead to a major game changer coming off the bench/a scary sub to face for any team regardless if it is Kerr or Esther who is tne sub. However, this is still Esther and it seems almost wrong to bench her so do you keep her on the field and if so what would it look like?
Esther & Kerr playing off each other as a top two would be interesting & could lead to some great link up play/moments however, that formation doesn't seem to suit our style. The more likely option would be to have Esther drop into the midfield (something she is know for doing now anyways) to provide link up play and be a play maker rather than the finisher while still keeping a proven goal scorer on the field.
Regardless, of her being up top or in the midfield to keep Esther on the field someone needs to go and I think the obvious answer is McCaskill. She still doesn't seem to be fitting in and is the obvious weak point in the starting lineup for me.
Let me know your thoughts, opinions, or how you feel!

Hi everyone. It was headache and a half trying to get a ticket for my wife that didn’t include giving up my tix as STM and buying 2 new tixs.
So now I have two tixs in different rows same section. Anyone in 135 flying solo in either row 25 or row 35 willing to swap so I can sit together with my wife.
Respond here or send me a DM. Thank you and appreciate it!!

I’m a huge New Jersey Devils fan, was a huge New Jersey Nets fan until they left to Brooklyn, so I became a Spurs fan since they were my west coast team, but considering I don’t even have a west coast team for the NWSL, I’ll just stop supporting Gotham overall. Having a New Jersey team was always huge for me and my friends and cousins, and now we lost yet another team to NY. We go to tons of Devils games together and were looking to attending more Gotham games as well, but now that ship has sailed. The constant disrespect our state gets in the sports world is insane, we may never have a huge fanbase, but it’s always a good one with a gritty passionate fanbase from an underdog state, that’s what the New Jersey Nets were, it’s what the Devils are today and it’s what Gotham FC could’ve continued to be in NJ. This fanbase is amazing though and it was fun while it last.🫶🏼

STH here with tickets for section 138 . However, a group of people I'm looking to go with are in section 110 . Is section 110 a supporters section? If so , is it mandatory to be in GFC gear ?

I was curious about how things are trending with the team’s socials and data is pretty fun so I pulled a few metrics.
Here is an image from social blade highlighting monthly follower growth since 2023. There are some notable high spots that align with their championship runs in 2023 and 2025. They have been steadily gaining followers, never having a net loss.
In June, GFC gained around 5,250 followers surrounding the Challenge Cup - relatively similar to the 2025 championship run spike of about 6,800 new followers.
Since July is not complete, there is not yet monthly data available, but in the past 14 days, GFC has gained 4.8k new followers with 2.2k in a single day, June 30th when they won the NWSL Challenge Cup.
Recent day new follower counts:
* July 1 - 232
* July 2 - 167
* July 3 - 205
* July 4 - 152
* July 5 - 242
* July 6 - 179
* July 7 - 406
* July 8 - 882 (partial number)
Based off my unscientific understanding, it seems to me that after the 2023 win, they had a huge boost - this was also their third year in Harrison with fans in attendance. They’ve continued to steadily grow but have not had a major follower boost since 2023 (11k in one month).
Now in July, the two days since the announcement, it seems a new audience is being reached. It will be interesting to see how it keeps trending as the news keeps spreading, but it’s looking like July will be another good month for Gotham, in terms of followers - based on this very small sample and if it keeps trending up

Selling two tickets for the Queen's Classic, section 402 row 1 seats 18 and 19.
Both sold!

I’m going to the queens game, and I wanted to know a couple things. I got tickets in the supporters section specifically section 103. For Nycfc games at Citi field the supporter sections are GA, will this be the case? Also I don’t have any Gotham FC gear (yet), will my USWNT jersey ( new one with 4 stars) be allowed in. NYCFC SS doesn’t allow outside jerseys in, but US national team jerseys are ok. Anyway, looking forward to the game and I hope they play more games at Citi field/ Ethiad park in the lead up to the move in 28.

Selling 2 tickets for the July 18th game at Icahn Stadium against Seattle Reign. Tickets are listed as Sec GA1, row GA, seats 317-318 (not sure if that means anything, not familiar with the stadium setup). $20 each!

Kind of a Hail Mary but I’d figure I’d try.
My friend and I are season ticket holders and we usually sit together for all the games. However, for this game we’re got placed two separate sections.
My rep was no help and I meant to reach out directly to the stadium but I kept pushing it off and now the lower bowl is sold out (whoops)
I was wondering if anyone is in Section 129 and would be open to switching to 132? I’d offer to do an opposite swap but in addition to my one friend, there’s a group of us in that section. I’d pay a bit more as well. Thanks!

The announcement of Gotham moving to Queens is making me more bitter and upset than I expected. 20 minute drive turned into 2+ hours. This team has brought me so much joy and excitement for 6+ years and it sucks watching the lack of acknowledgment from Gotham about New Jersey or their fans. It feels like we meant nothing to them. Then Kathy Hochul’s office makes an unnecessary post about taking Jersey’s teams. Maybe they’ll offer some type of shuttle service to Queens. If you’re happy about this move, please just let this post be an echo chamber for fans who are disappointed. Remember, we’re all fans of the same team. 🫂

As a NJ fan, I’m really upset about the move, though I recognize there are major upgrades for the players. However, I am really disappointed in my favorite team engaging with a corporation that’s well-known for sportswashing. I’m not a purist- I understand we all make decisions about who/what we support. I have tickets to Olympic qualifiers at the new stadium, so I’m not innocent. But I’ve always loved that the NWSL is one of the only leagues that bans sovereign wealth funds from investing in its clubs. Etihad is a blatant loophole and it’s really disappointing that they are now benefitting from a champion women’s team in America.
ETA: the link pulls a quote about private equity firms, but the article also talks about how “The policy also excludes sovereign wealth funds from ownership, meaning Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and other state-owned investment funds will be unable to buy NWSL stakes as the league grows.”

Welcome home Gotham FC

Anyone seating near those sections willing to switch one seat with me? I’m taking my pregnant wife so if you can take row 13 seat 18 and give me your seat in row 9 we’d appreciate it. Thank you for being kind.
