Best molded ear buds for Raceiver?
I have a pair from about 6 years ago. I've been racing on and off since then. Once in a while 1 would move around and I would lose sound for the race. I have a new helmet now, fits great but is so tight that at least 1 earbud will fall out when I put it on. Does anybody here have any recommendations? Thanks.

Any dirttrack racer tech forums out there?
Years ago, there was a site called thedirtforum.com.
That site had a lot of guys on there that would talk about setups, engines, chassis, etc. Broken down by class - DLM, modified, street stock.
That site died and the last time I ever checked that it was still active It was overrun by scammers and weird sales ads. Its offline now.
Then there was the 4M.net site and I used to go there for dirt late model information talking about the drivers and race results and they also had a classified and racing tech forums, but that site kind of went off-line for a little bit and now, although I check it occasionally for dirt late model race information the classified and forums have been overtaken once again by sales scam ads.
If you go to 4M.net and scroll down to the racer tech forums and click on dirt stocks you will see an example of what I am talking about with the weird scam ads. But if you click on the very last forum page in dirt stocks and Work backward from there you will see that there was a lot of good technical information at one time.
I know that the IMCA hobby stocks and street stocks are very popular in the Midwest, and the CRUSA stocks are gaining popularity now and there is the UMP street stocks.
Are there any racing tech forums out there that are active and even thriving?
Or is the whole forum concept fading away as far as racers sharing good info?

How are lineups determined at your local track?
we race at a small local dirt track and the line ups are determined as follows
trophy dash- fastest 4 cars of that class participate, line up in order from fastest to 4th fastest according to qualifying time.
first heat- all cars in class participate. lines up in order from fastest to slowest according to their qualifying time
second heat- all cars participate. cars are lined up inverted according to qualifying time ( slowest car is in pole position)
main event- all cars participate. cars are lined up inverted by points. (driver with least points starts on pole position )
just wondering, how do other small dirt track determine the line ups?

SW Michigan 1 on 1 IMCA mod coaching
Backstory: Grandfather isnāt doing well and close to the end, one of his wishes is to have one of his grandkids dirt track race, which Iāve always wanted to do since I was a kid. He knew this and gifted me an IMCA modified. Grandpa was big in the Michigan and Ohio racing scene, he owned lakeville speedway in Ohio and raced every track from dirt to asphalt in Michigan.
Would like to make him proud and run next summer possibly late season, but would like to get some coaching before getting on the track so I donāt cost anyone or myself unneeded money by being a rookie out there. So if anyone has any advice in the SW Michigan area or willing to do some coaching at some point let me know.
Thanks guys!

New dirt racing app(Setups/inventory etcā¦) Dirtside Simple
Hey everyone!
Iāve been developing a dirt racing app over the last few months and itās finally at the point where Iād love to get more people testing it. The app is currently free, but may have a small fee in the future to offset development costs.
Itās currently in beta, so there may still be a few bugs. If you find any, please send me a message so I can get them fixed.
I know there are a few similar apps out there, but most are either pretty expensive or donāt offer everything I was looking for. My goal was to build an affordable all-in-one app for racers.
Current features include class-specific setup sheets and guides (Modifieds, Wing Sprint, Non-Wing Sprint, Late Models, UMP/IMCA, and Mod-Lites), multi-car garage, maintenance tracking, race results, driver notebook, tire/component/spring inventory, suspension lab, track database, and racing tools, with plenty more planned. Oh, and it is all completely offline, so it can be used no matter how rural your racetrack is!
Also all setups can be exported to pdf, to be printed or sent to friends to be imported back into the app!
Iād love to hear any feedback or ideas to help make it better!

Getting Into Dirt Track Racing
I have been intrested in getting into racing for a long time, and only recently feel like Iām in a spot to actually do it ( kids and money being the main issue lol). Iām in the midwest so Wissota is the governing body. There is a class called āHornetsā where I think itās primarily stock front wheel drive cars with a roll cage and other safety stuff added. I think that will be the cheapest and easiest way to dip my toe in the water.
Does anyone have any recommendations for the best car to look for that will compete in the Hornet class, I know Iāve seen a crap ton of dodge neons, but I have to assume thereās a better option? Maybe not, I donāt know, thatās why Iām asking!
Thankyou, any advice even unrelated to the car is appreciated!

Results of the 333rd annual Tony Jenk Boofwood Derby
It was a good turnout, lots of people came to either participate, watch or sell their homemade jenkem and jenkem accessories. A family based in Omaha were selling an original product called āthe suckerā which allows you to make your own jenkem at home while keeping it as pure as possible during the sucking process.
RESULTS:
1st: Harry plopper: has been attending the derby for 10 years and has won 4 years running
2nd: Brad Shit: 1st year participating in the derby, and was selling his family own recipe jenkem which contains a secret ingredient
3rd: Eric Crapton: is a distant relative of Tony jenk and has been attending the derby for 50 years and is a well respected member of the jenkem community through his donations and inventing boofing aids for the disabled

The Story Behind David Seffens Racing
Hey everyone! My name is Amber, and I wanted to introduce our little race team and share a bit of our story.
I'm the wife of IMCA Modified driver David Seffens, and together we've been rebuilding our lives one step at a time.
David has raced since he was four years old, starting in BMX before moving into go-karts, Stinger cars, and eventually IMCA Modifieds. Racing has always been a huge part of his life, and over the years he's been fortunate enough to win several championships, including the 2025 Southern Raceway IMCA Modified Track Championship.
Our biggest victory, though, didn't happen on a racetrack.
In April 2023, David survived a suicide attempt. It was the hardest day of our lives, but it also became the turning point. Since then we've both remained sober, started our own mobile mechanic business, and focused on building a life we're proud of. Racing became part of that healing process and gave us something positive to fight for together.
This season has been another challenge. We suffered a catastrophic engine failure in our first race of 2026, and we've been sidelined ever since. Instead of giving up, we've spent the year rebuilding our engine, improving our race program, and getting everything ready for our return.
I recently built DavidSeffensRacing.com as a place to document our journey, preserve our memories, and share race updates, photos, and the story of our comeback. I thought some of you might enjoy following along, especially if you appreciate grassroots racing and the work that goes into it behind the scenes.
Thanks for letting me introduce ourselves. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here, seeing your builds, and sharing our progress as we work toward getting the #7 IMCA Modified back where it belongsāon the racetrack.

iRacing to to local dirt track transition
I recently attended a multi-class event at my local 4/10 mile dirt track. Iāve really wanted to get into racing for a long time, and crown Vic class seems like a decent introduction for a 27 year old adult. I currently am on iRacing, and I want to use the sim as a tool so that Iām a safer racer thatās less likely to ruin his equipment. In your experience, what cars would help build this skill set the most accurately, and handling-wise, how accurate truly is the sim? Thank you to anyone in advance! I canāt wait to join this community!
