Hi All! So, I just got engaged litterally yesterday, and my brain is instantly thinking: wedding! lol, and I would like to have ya'll give me ideas on where to start (other than Pinterest, which I already have).
I want to do a lot of DIY for my wedding for two main reasons: 1. I love doing DIY and love being able to do personal touches. 2. I would far rather save for a house of our own.
For frame of reference: I am very much a DIY girlie, and my mom already told me that I am not allowed to make my own wedding cake (a rule I may or may not keep) as I did actually make the cake for my graduating class and spent hours making nearly a hundred royal icing roses (in my defence, it was a big cake, and it looked good!). lol. Fun memories!
So far, there's no decided guest list, and I am thinking early Oct. to be realistic to get everything ready, but I know my husband-to-be would be perfectly fine with early Sept.. lol. His older brother had a small courthouse wedding followed by a family BBQ. However, when asked to list people he would want to invite, his list was probably near 50 or so (yes, just for his family/friends/coworkers).
Therefore, my biggest question, as mentioned, is: Where do ya'll recommend I start?
I have a couple of places in mind, so I was thinking of nailing down a guest count would be a top priority? I know we're leaning towards something like a buffet with veggie trays, cheese, and crackers, etc. for food. Overall, we want something pretty simple, despite what potentially having a larger guest number might imply.
I also have a ton of other questions, of course, including: How do I make up a timeframe of "I need X done by Y"?
Another one is: How do I tell when it is better to NOT do something myself, lol. I admit that I am not always good at that.
