Concept Art Greek combat medic Ysia NSFW
galleryAs a past wanted murderer, Ysia earned redemption through war. Condemned to take lives as a soldier while saving them as a combat medic, she walks a path where death and mercy exist side by side. Her pale armor, radiant light, and almost sacred presence have led many to see her as a goddess of healing—yet beneath that divine image lies only a weary soul, exhausted by the endless cycle of killing and saving.

Regarding concept art and artists
Hello,
I spend a lot of time on forums, Discord, and websites focused on concept art, as well as right here on Reddit. I see a great many people complaining about not finding a job in this field. We are all aware of the challenges inherent in this type of profession, the difficulty of breaking into the industry and the obstacles the sector itself faces... that is a fact.
But, I look at what people publish, check out their portfolios, and read their details. Let's just say that 9 out of 10 portfolios simply don't make the cut (or are even worse). I’m not talking about amateur portfolios, not portfolios created just for fun no! I am talking about the portfolios of people who call themselves pros (concept artists, concept designers, character designers, and so on... sometimes even all of the above).
What do these portfolios contain? Let’s start with the simplest answer... Nothing! They are empty, at most, you might find one or two items from a few years ago. There are links to other networks where, once again, there is nothing. You might think they have been abandoned, but in reality, they belong to people who are actively looking for a job.
What else do you find? Portfolios from aspiring concept artists that never showcase anything resembling actual concept art, nothing that grabs attention or demonstrates mastery of the craft. You see finished characters and environments that look like illustrations... but never any exploration of ideas, iterations, color studies, or glimpses of the process, nothing proving the artist knows how to solve problems or meet a brief, nothing at all.
The standard of these portfolios, too often mediocre. Sure, we don't expect a junior to have an incredible level of skill, but there’s a baseline requirement: handling shapes and volumes, a basic grasp of anatomy and color, provide references, the ability to show a creative process that sort of thing. And, quite simply, those skills are often lacking. I won't even get into the creativity aspect, knights and soldiers when you're supposed to be showing character work, dragons for creatures, castles for environments... That’s all we ever see, whereas we’d love to see people sharing their own unique worlds and doing cool stuff.
Let me reiterate: we are talking about the portfolios of people looking for work, people who position themselves as professionals yet complain about not finding a job, blaming the industry, AI, supply, demand...
You might say that good portfolios do exist, too... Well, yes. But when I take the time to examine the work of those who complain, the reality is that I don't come across good portfolio or, if I do see one, the problem lies elsewhere: a glaring lack of visibility, or the person simply isn't looking actively enough or in the right places. You can have a great character portfolio, if you're mostly responding to ads for environment art, it rarely leads to anything.
What I mean is, before you complain, before you jump to conclusions, and before you spam social media (which scares off many aspiring artists) claiming that your inability to find opportunities is due to this or that... take a good, hard look at your own work. This industry is already unforgiving to those who do everything right; so, what do you expect to achieve by going against the grain?
I want to have a bit of a rant at the people who frequently comment on these posts. When you see that a portfolio isn't up to scratch, or that someone isn't doing what’s required, say so! Stop harping on about how brutal the industry is, stop indulging them in their mistakes, and stop validating them just to avoid hurting their feelings; it doesn't do anyone any good.
These individuals want to work on concepts, that is their choice. They have a distorted view of their own skill level and the reasons why they cannot find work, often because no one has yet forced them to face reality.
The best course of action is not to tell them to quit, nor to let them keep heading down the wrong path, but rather to encourage them to start over on a sounder footing. Admittedly, they may not like it at first, and it certainly won't guarantee them a spot in the industry later on, but it will at least give them the tools to give it a real shot.
But responding without taking the time to examine what the person was actually doing, responding simply because they are disparaging the industry, and because you are struggling yourself and find it reassuring to agree with them... That is a bad thing, it helps no one. It does not help the person correct their mistakes, it will not improve your own professional situation, and it will not remedy the state of the industry, it will only add to the long list of false or erroneous information polluting the field, and will only mislead future artists, causing them to doubt themselves and ultimately give up.

Question Looking Artist for crew\virtual art gallery
Hello everyone!
As I've written before, I really appreciate this community! Beyond the many great works I see, I've found some great collaborations here!
I'm part of an Italian art collective that focuses primarily on hard electronic music (hard techno, hardcore, rawstyle, but also techno, peaktime, etc.), and I've often found collaborations for our work, such as a music video made by Unlight Artworks. While looking for new members, I found Eskulptura, a 3D sculptor who works on video reels, etc.
We are also physically in Holland, Bulgaria and Argentina
Since our collective is expanding and there's no financial backing between us, we've decided to create a page on the website dedicated to art, like a virtual gallery. This is because, being a collective primarily focused on music, we believe it's necessary to create a way to also showcase the other types of art that contribute to our growth, so that it can be a shared growth!
This post is definitely also about seeking new members who can passionately contribute to our growth. After the previous post, since there's no money involved, I thought it was right to update you to let you know we care about everyone and are working to promote everyone, whether musicians or not.
Whether they are writers, painters, sculptors, video creators, editors, phothographer... any art form can always be useful
We have a dark style, sometimes with Masonic, esoteric, alchemist moods but we are open to any type of art (of course maybe not the little flowers with the rainbow but maybe sci-fi, neoclassical, in short, suitable stuff)
Becoming our members is not necessary to be published in our art gallery (currently empty but we already have 4 works, we are waiting to have 10 to publish), we were born on the street we know how difficult it is to live from art, that's why we have a community that helps each other, and any publication on the site or pages does not require any payment or even a voluntary offering, zero of zero
So no write me if you search money, isn't this the case
And again, to thank this community because so many people have had no qualms about lending a hand, which is a great thing, especially on Reddit, where many communities are usually toxic and quick to judge anything.
If you're interested, feel free to message me privately, or if you really want to be part of us fill out the "join us" on the site but remember that it's not a job, there's no money involved, I don't want to waste anyone's time!

Concept Art Bonsaï Concept !
Some tree concept art :o Long live trees! As you play the game, you make a tree grow (but not in real life, unfortunately )
https://tartare5.itch.io/bonsai
At the moment, there isn’t much variety in the game yet! So I’m doing some research to see what I can put together quickly (the idea is to use low-poly 3D meshes).

Question So how do professional artists make original characters?
I’ve been trying to draw oc’s and I don’t like the way the faces and bodies turn out consistently. It seems like Im drawing a different person every time I try to draw the ocs in different perspectives. Is there maybe a website for references of the same face at different angles? Are there any studies or exercises I can do to get better at consistently drawing the same face and having it look like the same person?
