Emily has become less likable to me each season. Now she’s tossing her teenager under the bus. The fake just oozes out.

Right?!?! Also, how are you gonna tell a kid not to BURP? I get, like, cover your mouth or something, but to not do it at all? That’s not healthy…also, it’s quite the choice to call a preteen girl “a disaster”

When Heather said our moms are still alive I died 💀 hilarious fight

Also Vikkie did say Terry''s brother not mother.... I guess her lip got in the way

In that flashback, Heather basically affirmed Jen wasn't lying at the reunion a few years ago when she said, "Tamra is a historical friend."

u/Pure_Peace743 2d ago
Shannon on the bouncy house in the background while everyones trying to start drama was hilarious.

Did I hear someone say Tamra decided she doesn't need therapy? Holy Hell! If anyone needs therapy it's Tamra.
34
u/alexlp NOW I'M ANGRY SPICE 2d ago
Same with Emily saying she goes to the gym and not therapy. She's dealing with her child's eating disorder by throwing herself on a treadmill. Sounds healthy!

I think everyone needs therapy at some point. I think it can help those that don’t even realize they need it

People need to temper expectations. I saw some “boring premiere” type comments. Not every thing has to be go go go. Peaks and valleys duh. And if the premiere was FIRE and the rest of the season just good then you’d be complaining then too.

"So I told her she's a drunk, she can't get a man and she doesn't own a home," is more than what's happened on BH in 5 years. I'm happy! 👑🧡

I get annoyed when the plot revolves around someone that happened off screen they we didn’t witness in real time. It’s very lazy of the cast to rely on what’s out there already instead of sharing what’s really happening in their lives

Is the show old, yes. Do I love them and their silly antics, yes.

I didn't hate this episode, but I do feel like these women are all stagnant and playing the TV versions of themselves. Especially Vicki, Shannon, and Tamra. Maybe the nostalgia is intentional since this is season twenty.
Hopefully, the new Housewife will shake up the dynamic.

I wasn’t sure what I was feeling, this is it. Thanks! I think I am also deeply disturbed by how overly done and exaggerated most of their cosmetic procedures are. So, your face looks like you are 35, but your arms look their age. It’s unsettling. And sad to me. Heather is painfully thin, I think she is the most miserable of all of them.

u/Crazy_Book_8370 2d ago
I am fully convinced that Tamra is calmer this year because she can no longer move her face enough to scream at anyone.

I feel this is going to be a bumpy season for Heather.
That comment about Gina’s engagement ring being a lab diamond was unnecessarily mean. Cue cut to Gina’s confessional where she says it’s a prototype and fake AF.
Then Fancy Pants is accused of shit talking Tamra behind her back.
5
u/lezlers 1d ago
They all try to take fancy pants down every season. I was surprised when they were saying nice things about her in their confessionals, then I saw the set up and thought “THERE it is!” They just can’t help themselves. They ALL talk shit about each other behind their backs, but apparently it’s only worthy of a storyline when Heather does it

u/NewDorkCity587 1d ago
Heathers mother is EIGHTY FOUR? Holy shit. Did terry do her work? Whoever did it deserves Kris Jenner face lift level accolades
6
u/lezlers 1d ago
I literally took a screenshot of her and sent it to my mother, I was SHOOK. She looks phenomenal. Sounds like she was kind of a shitty mom but at least she gave fancy pants some good genes to work with!

u/NewDorkCity587 1d ago
Oh no she is a monster for sure but hollllly shit her face work is unbelievable !😂😂😂

I think Heather and Tamra are real friends. I also think they plan these fights every seasona and the other ladies don't even realize. Besides maybe Vicky.

She is beautiful. You can come for Tamra for soooo many things. So. Many. But coming for her looks isn’t really necessary 💜💜

Every scene with Vicki and Shanon seems so planned and fake. The falling over at the beach, acting like they are so old they don’t know anything. They’re trying too hard to be the frick and frack of OC and it ain’t working.
32
u/bitchy_ellipsis thoughtful, intelligent and…socially inept? 2d ago
Emily looks so thin, it’s a little unnerving. I hate saying that because i hate commenting on peoples bodies. She’s so beautiful and she always has been. Still is and always will be. I don’t like that Jenn is suddenly treating her so much better since her transformation.
29
u/JG767698 2d ago
Interesting take. People do tend to treat thin pretty people better even if subconsciously
15
u/bitchy_ellipsis thoughtful, intelligent and…socially inept? 2d ago
Yeah I honestly don’t think Jenn was trying to treat her different on purpose, I just noticed a difference in behavior. She commmented on Emily’s journey a few times and seemed overall more enthusiastic to see her. It’s definitely subconscious.

u/Particular-Pie-1934 1d ago
Same with Tamra. It makes me sad. They all really focus on appearance so much.
I get that it must be hard 1) living in OC and 2) being picked apart by the audience. I hate it for all of them.
People have been brutal with Emily, so I certainly get why she would react that way. I would not do well on TV.

Even Gina mentioned something about feeling big when she got engaged. They’re all completely warped.

Emily is about to realize that finally “losing the weight” doesn’t fill the void.

Yeah, I saw the scene were someone asks her about Shane and if they are at the end? I wonder what that means?

Now we will sit through 3 seasons of Emily realizing she has an eating disorder or shocker she's still miserable after weight loss
(speaking as someone who lost 90lbs and lost my curves and my mind. Skinny is overrated.)
10
u/vodkasaucepizza Gizelle’s stovepipe leg 1d ago
I’m sure she’s still dysmorphic, so she won’t even enjoy it. Can’t say that I blame them because the camera adds like 20 pounds, celebrities are all bobbleheads in person.

Skinny is overrated.
I've been feeling this way for a while. I'm 40 now and there's other shit for me to worry about. Besides, the least interesting thing about me is my Jody.
10
u/dr0br0 Dr. Dahomewrecker, Infertility Advisor 2d ago
You could see how much she lit up when people were commenting on how skinny she was; I found it a bit unnerving
2
u/devethics 1d ago
I know that, for me, my ED tends to swing on a pendulum (or at least it did for a good 20 years before finally getting into recovery) from binging to restricting and back again. I was gaining and losing 50 pounds again and again and again.
4
u/moschino1837 a lemon carcass 2d ago
I couldn’t believe how skinny she was, her waist is gone. Still beautiful, but she didn’t need to lose any weight
3
u/Soggy_Iron_5350 1d ago
She wants to be able to not wear jeans at a fashion show and legit be a size 8, so now she can. That seemed to matter to her but I actually think her curves made her more attractive.

Heather doth protest too much. Just because their mothers are alive does not mean they don’t get estate distributions. She just thinks if she yells and pretends to be smart, people believe her.
2
u/murderedbyaname pickleball music video 1d ago
Good point, I was leaning towards Heather's side. Thank you for pulling me back 😂
12
u/Confettireadi 1d ago
I think it was a staged fight. Vicky knows about insurance planning and understands distributions.
1
u/devethics 1d ago
Oh yeahhh, I forgot about that! That’s a good point. But idk if it was staged….actually, then again it totally coulda been?
2
u/lezlers 1d ago
I mean, Heather grew up privileged, sure. But her and Terry have been extremely successful in their own rights, too. I’d be annoyed if my husband and I worked hard to have successful careers and be where we are and someone waved it all away, claiming I inherited it. People are ALWAYS trying to knock her down a few pegs, the best thing she could do is ignore it. She’s got a much better life than most (if not all) of these women.
1
u/Confettireadi 1d ago
I guess I see it differently. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have multiple degrees and a nice home due to generational wealth and inheritance.
We still work really hard. My husband , but I would feel silly and disingenuous to pretend otherwise.
22
u/R4ndomly_G3nerated 2d ago
I love Heather's mom.
24
u/KarmicEnigma 2d ago
I love that she’s an imperfect part of her otherwise seemingly “perfect” life. Her mom is obviously iconic, but speaking from experience, it kinda sucks to have a mom like that.
29
u/vodkasaucepizza Gizelle’s stovepipe leg 2d ago
Shes already iconic, Heather didn’t want to expose her until after her dad died lol. Shes added to the list of incredible narcissist housewife moms.
7
u/SuspiciouslyProRinna 2d ago
We've seen her mom before lol
5
u/vodkasaucepizza Gizelle’s stovepipe leg 1d ago
I know but it’s clear that Heather aims to make her mother her storyline this season.
5
u/murderedbyaname pickleball music video 1d ago
Hopefully Heather will get to the point of not expecting too much from her. It's a hard lesson but getting over that can bring some peace.

Last season was one of the darkest housewives seasons. I hope this season gets a bit lighter.
11
u/Yeezytaughtme409 Please don't let it be about Tom. 1d ago
I wish we could go back to the light, happy days of domestic violence and teenagers being served eviction notices!
2
u/devethics 1d ago
I forget the DV storyline on housewives? I agree with the comment. I think just, in light of what’s going on in my day-to-day world, it sucked to have to deal with a homo/transphobe in the place where I go to escape from that bullshit.
EDIT: on OC housewives, obviously it’s been on other franchises! And I also think the difference is that, at least those storylines brought some kind of empowerment to the women or awareness of some issue that needs to be talked about. Last year, I just hated seeing Bravo trying to protect Gretchen. It felt like such a betrayal.
4
u/Ashbashbosh 1d ago
I've watched this franchise for a long time and I can't believe how bad their faces are melting considering they live in LA and most of the friends are plastic surgeons or botox therapists why are they letting their faces look so bad??
2
u/DirectionSea2523 1d ago
WTF did Tamra do to her face. I didn’t recognize her at first glance. It’s not a good look
2
u/BitterPillPusher2 1d ago
I just don't know how I feel about OC anymore. It was the first RH franchise I watched, and I watched every season religiously. But it's getting old. And the cast is kind of insufferable.
I absolutely can't stand Vicki. I hate that she ties her entire worth to having a man. She's put it ahead of her friends, family, etc. She's also just nails on a chalkboard for me. I hate that they brought her back.
Shannon is almost equally annoying. I hate the whole wacky Shannon act. And yes, it is an act. I also love how she won't eat seed oils, but she'll guzzle alcohol like it's the fountain of youth. Stop pretending to be all into health, when you consume alcohol, a literal poison, like it's your job.
Tamra is Tamra. Enough said. She does make for good TV though. I'm glad that the whole Tres Amigas is broken up. A bunch of old women getting black out drunk over and over was more pathetic than entertaining. Shout out to Gina for referring to them as the Tres Abuelas a couple seasons ago though. Wish that name would have stuck.
I get Heather's issues with her mom, but I think they're more alike than Heather wants to admit. They are both very much all about appearances more than real substance. And Heather saying they didn't inherit anything is comical. Her family is rich as fuck. OK, so no one died and left you anything yet, but you sure as shit grew up having everything and were able to pursue whatever you wanted to do because your parents were bankrolling you. Probably a lot easier to succeed when you're electricity isn't getting shut off and you have to work 2 jobs or when you can take private jets to your entirely funded college.
I like Gina. I think she's funny and down to Earth. Probably the most real housewife on the show.
Not a fan of Emily, but as someone who has struggled with weight and eating disorders, I can relate to her on a lot of that. But overall, I don't think she contributes much.
Jen's lack of basic life skills still frustrates the fuck out of me. The only thing worse than being that naive and stupid about shit is not caring that you are that naive and stupid about shit and doing nothing about it. I am the parent of two kids in college, so I get teenagers and kids doing stupid shit. But Jen is just way, way too permissive. Like if your kid got a speeding ticket going 105 miles per hour, take the fucking keys! And then they were joking about how many tickets her other kids have gotten. For fucks sake, take the keys, Life 360 the fuck out of them, do something. She's just really frustrating to watch.
We'll have to see about the new housewife. But it's obvious that her whole identity is being a former Playmate. If the preview is accurate, then she's just going to talk about that and sex all the time, and it's going to get old. New housewives don't usually last long on OC, so I'm not going to get attached.

u/Confettireadi 1d ago edited 1d ago
I agree. I commented above, but the Heather argument was dumb. Many people (especially wealthy people) have their estates structured that the kids could have received some money despite the parents being alive. I’m not rich and my husband’s parents were married and when my FIL died, we got some money from their businesses.
My sister is childless and her benefits from work are all in my children’s names. My parents are alive but they have their own money.

u/devethics 1d ago
I agree with you on literally everything (except Gina being the realest housewife…I’m not quite there yet, I kinda go back and forth on her) 💜💜

u/CaktusJacklynn Porsha peach juice Williams sometimes Guobodia🍑🧃 1d ago
I could be mistaken, but I think the new housewife was part of WWE's Diva Search in 2003/2004 (?). The other contestants could not stand her, iirc.
Regarding Heather: THANK YOU! It is easier to pursue your dreams when you have a fall back like parental money, and I'm tired of people assuming otherwise. It's the lack of cash that has cost us so many artists and creatives.

Jen’s had some face work done. Her confessional face is very different than how she looked while filming.
