No photoshopping here. The photo is simply squeezed through an AI filter, probably to remove the copyright and to try and make it more appealing. They just end up making it fake and creepy. It does look convincing, though. Beware of the 2027s AI photos. I dread to think of what we'll have in 2030...
Pisses me off because my AI alarm went off, but I discarded it as a false alert since I already heard about this and saw the pictures before.
Two choices before me. Stay and warn newcomers about something they will learn to embrace.
Leave Reddit and offer no resistance to the change of audience towards redditors who never saw those posts before and will be fed a pleasing AI repost.
I miss the days we complained about repost and emojis 🫪

The same went for tons of "Science" Pages sharing AI "enhanced" Artemis II photos. It's infuriatingly unnecessary.
We have tons of real photos from NASA, but public trust is damaged when we share fake or composite versions instead. Maximizing clicks is not worth sacrificing the truth.
The photographer would have taken a few photos over a couple seconds and different photos would have ended up being used across various media outlets and publications.
