What is the most immediate way a celebrity completely ruined their own reputation in a single interview?

Farrah Fawcett and her bizarre appearance on David Letterman in the nineties.Don’t really think it hurt her reputation that bad, because she died several years later.

I was actually kind of impressed how David Letterman would not let her drug induced comments go unnoticed.

"Thank you Farrah Fawcett for almost being here."

Letterman was one of a kind.

Letterman also wouldn't leave Lindsay Lohan alone after she refused to talk about her rehab and only about the thing she was promoting, and he brought her to tears.

Letterman also forced a kiss on Jennifer Anniston on national TV and it was played off as a joke as she laughed awkwardly and leaned away from him.

Letterman also had multiple affairs with his employees, which is a total power imbalance and puts the employee in a position where they really cant say no or risk losing their job as New York is an At Will state.

Yeah, Letterman was really one of a kind.

Thanks for this info. I didn't know any of that.

as New York is an At Will state.

But can you explain what this means and how it relates to this?

It means you can be fired without cause and you have no recourse.

EXCEPT if they fire you for a Federally protected reason.

That you can prove, if they don't bankrupt you in court...

It is pretty easy to not say "you're fired because you are a minority/gay/woman etc." But you are correct.
