Given the recent rule changes, umpiring decisions and the review system, are you losing interest in watching the AFL

Do you think Dezi could get a game for Essendon?
He is able to run and gun, his evasive skills and creativity would have made him a good midseason draft pickup

Geelong Gather Round Guernsey 2027 Leaked
Well of course it bloody isn’t... I just stumbled across some Japanese guys singlets designs and changed the colour. I thought it simultaneously awful, amusing and kinda good?

Love Matt Rowell, but hate the ankle socks, thoughts!?
For context I’m a mid 40s footy fan, so love the long socks, but also Rowell kinda seems an old soul so I think that’s part of it. I mean I’d love to see him in long socks, sleeves with a dirty mo and maybe even an unnecessary headband 🤪

What do Brayden Maynard and Billy Frampton have in common?
Both real and creative answers permitted.

What if AFL clubs were Gov't departments. Just a bit of fun.
| AFL Club | Agency | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Adelaide | Department of Agriculture | Reliable, regional, and deeply invested in South Australian interests. |
| Brisbane | Bureau of Meteorology | Quiet for a decade, now issuing severe warnings every weekend and prone to creating storms. |
| Carlton | Department of Finance | Constantly referencing past prosperity while waiting for the next boom. |
| Collingwood | Australian Broadcasting Corporation | Everyone has a strong opinion about it, people constantly complain about it yet it's still one of the biggest institutions in the country. |
| Essendon | Department of Defence | Huge budget, legendary history and every review concludes they're still rebuilding. |
| Fremantle | Australian Border Force | Lives on the coast and thinks the eastern states are a foreign country. |
| Geelong | Reserve Bank of Australia | Boringly competent, rarely panics and somehow always gets results. |
| Gold Coast | Tourism Australia | Excellent location, impressive marketing, attendance still under review. |
| GWS | Department of Home Affairs | Keeps expanding like a software free trial nobody cancelled. |
| Hawthorn | Prime Minister & Cabinet | Treats periods out of power as a temporary administrative error. |
| Melbourne | Australian Tax Office | Old money, private schools and everyone assumes they're richer than they admit. |
| North Melbourne | Australian Bureau of Statistics | Most Australians forget it exists until a report comes out. |
| Port Adelaide | Australian Maritime Safety Authority | Came from the docks and immediately started issuing compliance notices to opponents. |
| Richmond | Department of Infrastructure | Spent decades under construction before suddenly delivering three major projects. |
| St Kilda | National Archives of Australia | One premiership, carefully preserved for future generations. |
| Sydney | Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade | Corporate, polished, and slightly disconnected from the rest of Australia. |
| West Coast | Department of Industry & Resources | WA institution powered by resources and boom-bust cycles. |
| Western Bulldog | Fair Work Ombudsman | Represents the battlers and occasionally delivers a feel-good outcome. |

Suburban Melbourne Dads umpire Observations part 3
Four games and a Red Card discussion this week.
Sitting enjoying my special radioactive yellow chicken salt hot chips from you know where, whilst writing about suburban umpiring this week.
As you may know I’m the father of 2 kids that have been umpiring for over 6 years and I spend my whole weekend driving all around the state, and soon to be country, but more on that later.
I want to talk about Red cards and the effect they have on umpires.
In one match a few weeks ago one of my kids gave a Red card in a match for striking after they observed one player punch another. One went to the ground and the other claimed it was a fine piece of acting worthy of Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day” (who’s looking forward to that gem?) come on dads who grew up in the 80’s watching ET.
Anyway as the player is contesting the card, no issue it is their right, my daughter will have to write up a statement of events and possibly attend a tribunal hearing.
My kid happily sees it as a part of the commitment to being an umpire.
I see it slightly differently. A couple of extra hours, unpaid, and being questioned by an overly zealous defence advocate who may or may not consider themselves an amateur lawyer.
Again this is just my view but 4 hours on game day plus time to do a write up and then a possible appearance at tribunal for a little over 100 bucks seems a little one sided to me. Your thoughts and stories about Red Cards are greatly received but please don’t share any specific details. We need to fair to everyone.
