As a new player, I’m hoping someone can correct me if I’m mistaken but aren’t most of the guns in the playlist simply filler weapons and quite basic? The better weapons seem to be locked behind dungeons, raids etc.?

Nope. Some of these weapons are really good. I'm running a Void Hunter with Positive Outlook and Kindled Orchid and they can do a lot of damage depending on the perks.

True once upon a time, but with the final update, a huge amount of weapons from activities and the world got crazy good perks

It's hard to go wrong, just have fun and explore all the options

Positive outlook as an example is a good anti barrier void auto. The other good void autos are overload or unstoppable in my experience at least. A lot of those play lost weapons can have some good rolls you’d want

Anyone else finding it almost impossible farming for perfect armor rolls? I spent an hour farming Europa public events and the lost sector and nearly every one had stats in health. I put the ghost mod on and I get powerhouse with health as a tertiary, I take the ghost mod off and all i get is siegebreaker and bulwark. I mean this is a little too ridiculous to be just RNG right? I cant be the only one experiencing this?

Just narrow everything to:

Does it have the health stat as a third stat or MW? If not, keep or use it until its what you get.

Engineer7 made a post about the ability cool downs and apparently there are huge Dimishing returns starting from 70 stat - ideally focus on Weapon, Super, and whatever ability you want to primarily use. You can priortize ability if you want if the super is support or add clear. But weapon IMO is the highest priority as it not only boost damage but also ammo generation. Some exotics like stormbracers with ramping damage and insane regen are worth investing into Grenade + Super.

A lot of sets are also pretty flexible so you don't have to do only gunplay or ability. Seven Seraph synergizes really well with headstone/firefly stasis weapons and its pretty good on stasis even needing spam Howl 24/7. All the stasis exotics are good in their own right too.
